There are Android headunits available (Parrot Asteroid: Engadget Review), however what I am really waiting for is a headunit using Apple's iPod out functionality where the iOS device outputs the iPod HMI onto the headunit. However this takes a lot of time to come to market, as it has only been this year that headunits have been available which take the HMI from Symbian phones, that system works really well, but these days how many people have Symbian phones?

I love windows phone 7, I wish more people knew about it. A 7"windows 8 tablet would actually be something I would mount on my dash too

^ I agree. Windows 7 is a great OS but I plan on getting a tablet someday with Windows 8 to replace my iPad. A 7" screen will probably fit better in the FR-S/BRZ than the 10"ers out there.

Carputers FTW!!!

When we all get our AS1's, we need to have a thread for our carputer builds! I would loveee to have a Windows 8/OSX Lion system running with a nice media center! SSDs are getting cheaper too so we could potentially have a lot of storage!!

Too big. A 7 inch would fit much better. And IMO W8 would be much more responsive/easier to use in a car.

A 7" iPad vs a 7" iPad; that's a tough one for me honestly. I love the iPad's hardware, but it's OS is aging and win8 looks impressive- given that there will be options with comparable hardware.

Agreed. Android dominates the smartphone OS market at 47% with Apple slipping farther away at 29%. Oh well. Im good with just an Aux in.

The AppRadio2 in the above link is apparently compatible with Android as well as iOS.

is AppRadio and the BeSpoke system the same thing?

the first AppRadio video mentions integration with a reversing camera (which seems to be a standard option on the uk GT86) on this order confirmation sheet:

this makes me wonder whether this is what the touchscreen audio will be in the frs/brz/86
