Not a fan of those oem wheels either. I have my mind set on some Volk 18' TE37SL in Black on a white 86.

What do you guys think are the biggest, lightest 18s that will probably fit the big brake kit?

Will probably be downgrading to 16's if the base Scion doesn't come with them already.

I like wheels with some offset (concave face) with either a lip or a stepped lip. Hopefully these will be offered as an option at some ridiculous price.

Packaging.

Low offsets require either big flares or for the suspension components to be further inboard to clear the wheels plus allow extra width for those who will want wider wheels with similar to stock offsets. That would reduce the space in the engine bay (with the boxer layout it's obviously why that didn't happen) and reduce trunk space.. look at the space there is in the car, it would be noticably reduced if they went further inboard.

Oh, and I ran +63 offset rear wheels on my S2000, and stock was higher than the FRS is.. so it's not just FWD with high offsets..

Hell these days I'm not sure low offset wheels are that common.. I haven't checked but you usually see them on older designs.. BMW still does some lower offsets I believe though.

It's too bad because wheels with lower or negative offsets usually look much better.

I think these are horrible.

Almost as bad as the OEM 17" wheels. The BBS look much nicer IMO.

I think a wide 17" with proper offsets will be the best.
