No thats another issue this just makes all the plastics and hoses look better then new. If the metal is corroded you have other issues

It's likely just a little bit of surface rust, which just requires a bit of elbow grease and something to scrub it off with.

Yup, my method is the cheaters way to a clean engine bay, but nothing trumps some TLC and elbow grease

I washed my engine bay a few months ago, and got a CEL for a little bit. I didn't get a chance to run the code, but it went away after a while. Anyone have this problem?

Water got to your coil packs. Take them off and let them dry or use a compressor to dry the. To make the good connection dielectric grease. I screwed up some coil packs washing my engine bay in my GT. Now I just blow out the bay with air compressor or leaf blower, use a damp rag and detail brushes. No longer do I spray down my engine bay

^ I've been told by a person I trust that silicone isn't great for electrical connections. Something about SiO causing a poor connection.

Most likely not. But for rubber hoses and plastic it should be fine. Just spray it on a rag first then apply. After cleaning the part obviously.

Interesting, maybe I'll look into that myself then. I agree with you that it's great for rubber, I use it on my door seals to keep them from freezing, works like a charm.
