If you're referring to the clutch type as mechanical, then all that does is lock the 2 wheels together when it detects the slippage. That's what the drifter/drag racer types like.

Interesting that the TBR of the T2 is implied to be 4:1 in this video. I wonder how accurate that is, as this is the same LSD in my IS250 and I've not been able to find any TBR information on it before.

I gotta admit I am impressed with how the car gets off tight corners at high throttle....all of my race cars have clutch based LSD's....not torsens like the FR-S.....it is a pleasant surprise at the little "boost" I feel coming off the corner....clearly the diff is working well.....for such a modestly powered car....it really gets off corners nicely...

Im glad jack didnt explain this....good guy dont get me wrong, but im ready for scion to start getting more technical with this car and less with the "lets drift yo" advertising....
