How would you rate the stock LSD?
I see it's pretty aggressive, so when would you say one will need something like Cusco RS LSD 1.5way or so? Could you smoke the tires with the stockish easilly? |

The car reminded me a lot of my old 86. Although the FR-S is rated at 200hp, with the bigger wheel/tire setup stock, I definitely found myself trying to throw the car more like a hachi and clutch kicking quite often even with the smaller stock WRX wheels. The FR-S is totally a momentum car, the second you loose that momentum, even multiple clutch kicks will have a hard time keeping the tires spinning. I have been spoiled with my previous turbo Miata primarily by the power it had and there is a lot of improvement I can make with my driving after watching my in-car inside the FR-S. Video below of my previous Miata. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICtazw1uOOE"]Drift Day 37 - PHILSTAR - YouTube[/ame] Some things I learned: - I need to re-learn how to keep the momentum better which in turn will allow me not to have to keep beating up the clutch as much. Although on a tight course like this one, some sections are very hard to keep that momentum going. - The e-brake is absolutely amazing but I found myself using it more than I would like to check my speed, adjust my line, etc. - I can tell that I fumble with my throttle control and transfers sometimes and I think a big part of that has to do with the stock seat. The stock seat is probably one of the best stock seats I have ever sat in, but for a course with so many corners and elevation changes, I was bracing myself a ton against the speaker and center console (and I have the knee bruises to prove it). - I would like a tad bit more angle than stock and I found myself spinning out half the day but for a stock car, the angle this car can get was surprising. Overall, I think bone stock this car is perfectly capable of doing everything I would want. The suspension, LSD, and power is perfect for anyone who wants to learn how to drift, or for anyone who wants to progress and fine tune their driving skills. The ONLY change I would like to make is to replace the seat with a full bucket, at least for events so I can focus more on the driving, than bracing myself. But thats just me making excuses. Never has there been a more fun stock car! =)
