Not sure how it would do in a cold climate. I do know that I would go 1-2 wks @ a time between starting the GT-R, and it cranked as hard as it did if I had started it the day before.

I unbolted the end of the terminal, where it goes to the post, then had to take a 3/8 bit to slightly hog out the ends, so I could bolt them directly to the batt. Worked like a charm.

I had other L/W batts in my Evo (Odyssey etc), but they died quickly. These will last 4-5 years per manufacturer.

Here's the weight.

Also, these batts LAST...
How long do they last from typical use?

I saw some similar batteries at SEMA 2012, and looks like Lithium Ion lightweight batteries are getting more and more popular.

The weight savings are good; but 25 lbs for $899 is pretty steep. I hope the pricing comes down as manufacturers are able to achieve economy of scale and the products become more widely available.

There are lightweight lithium ion batteries available that will work in our cars for a heckuva lot less than $900, that will save 25 lbs or more.

Cool deal. It looks like I need to do some research, although this is a mod I'll leave for when the OEM battery dies.

The reason I 'bucked up' was that I needed to take as much weight out of my car as possible (SCCA Solo on National level), so... KA-ching! Actually, Titan has been bery, bery good to me on pricing--so me no pay $900-1k. ;-)

I'd likely go for an 11lb. battery from Braille Battery. $700 is just too steep for something like that, IMO.

Braille batteries are just rebranded Deka batteries with a different label and marked up quite a bit.

I saw the Brailles at SEMA 2012 and liked them. Did not know they were knock offs, bummer.

More power to those who want to get really lean by getting lightweight batteries, not criticizing that at all. And more power to those who can get inside-deal prices.

I am an average Joe, have no connections, and tend to pay full price for everything unless it's a GB, promotion, or used part. That's still a nice mod to be aware of, though, OP, so I appreciate the post.

Battery ...sooner or later ... Eventually .... Will die. Spending $800 on this need to think twice.
