This is an age old misconception I am afraid. I hade a dozen people tell me my exhaust valves would not seat properly without the correct "back pressure" when I ran straight pipes on my 55 Chevy. That was back in 1974.

Sadly that was not me. If you knew what I looked like you'd instantly understand why soccer and I could never be. I'm built for football/rugby/boxing/hockey/etc. pretty much any sport where a primary objective is hard contact with the other team. Soccer has waaaaaay too much running, and I can't hit people.

I remember I tried out for soccer in high-school just so I could have every sport pin on my Letter Jacket.
First day of practice:
-The coach goes, "all right boys, five mile run!"
-I'm thinking he must want us in pretty good condition, so I do the run at a decent clip, and use up most all of my gas tank.
-Finish the run thinking good work, and head to grab my bag.
-I make it ten steps before the coach shouts, "good run boys! Now let's do 20 stair climbs, and then we'll start practice!"
-Open outofyourdamnmind.jpg
-Run program fuckthisshitimout.exe

Oh trust me, Soccer is hard contact game. I watch this just to LOL'ed lol

Anyways, yeah... soccer player require sooo much more endurance & energy than some of other sports. Due to there's limited to 3 subs with no timeout (other than 15mins halftime) running near 110 yard field for +45mins x2.

I can't handle running that long, so I only play indoor or small 6v6 outdoor games.

I ran once. Didn't like it much and never did it again.
