Death Stranding.
On the one hand the whole delivering stuff has been more fun than I expected. On the other hand I'm now 20 hours into the game and if it's really another 20-30 hours of more of the same I'm not sure I'll be playing it until the end.

Story is pretty intriguing but I'm starting to fear they won't explain much and it will just be weird for the sake of weird.

At the moment playing WoW. Completion of Castle Nathria (Heroic), 10 bosses get hard but I guess will need to ask these guys for help

I played about 44 hours, The game is one of the most intriguing I've played in a long time. I picked it up on sale now that my computer is powerful enough to handle it and played it straight through within a couple of weeks.

I enjoyed the game a lot, but explaining what's going on to anyone who passes buy and catches a glimpse makes you seem like an absolute crazy person

"your caring a fetus in a tank on your chest?" Oh, yeah.. well its actually connected to dead people and lets me see them, otherwise the monsters will swallow me up in black goo and a big whale will try to bellyflop me

and its only gets more strange

It still makes more sense than explaining someone the plot of Kingdom Hearts.

Managed to brick my Gaming PC trying to prep for Windows 11. In the process of enabling TPM I managed to end up with a configuration that could not read my drives because they had been partitioned with MBR rather than GBT, then couldn't revert it (I think it had to do with setting up Secure Boot, more than TPM).

Fortunately, it was an easy enough recovery as I have a separate OS drive, just had to repartition and reinstall Windows, well and every program I had installed. Interestingly, Steam and Epic recovered fine since I had their libraries on a separate drive.

The W10->W11 conversion should be interesting. I'm going to recommend to family the same thing I recommend to 2013 FRS/BRZ owners about the spring recall, yea you can do it, but is it really worth the risk? You're likely to buy a new computer before its an issue in 2025.

Gamers will probably want to upgrade eventually though as there are several enhancements for games.

I don't understand what you are saying there. Are you saying 11 is a good thing?
The base version of 11 has to be connected to the internet all the time and the telemetry is supposedly at another level.

I've always skipped every other Windows release and have never been disappointed.
98 Great
ME Horrible
XP Great
Vista Horrible
7 GREAT
8 Horrible
10 Great
11 ???

They always seem to introduce new things in the new releases and then take what works and mix it with the older release.
IE What worked in 8 Was mixed with what was good about 7 and we got 10.

No, I'm saying, like the spring recall, its something you can do, but it may not really be worth it unless there is a specific thing (like gaming) that may benefit from it.

The irony is that they skipped 9 to try avoiding some of the bad juju.

And I'm definitely not in love with 10. I would have kept 7 if they continued updates.

Too many 'intelligence' and 'connectivity' features baked in at the OS level trying to be everything to everyone. 11 seems to expand on that in a direction I'm not sure I want or need.

I'm starting to seriously investigate going over to Linux for everything...

More accurate IMO:

98 Great
2k great
ME Horrible
XP Great
Vista Great actually, but horrible on low end hardware. OS was too far ahead of it’s time
7 GREAT, just vista 1.1 really
8 Horrible
8.1 great
10 Horrible and rushed at first, fixed ~ 10 months later
11 it’s really an update to 10, not a reboot so I expect no big problems.
