thank you very much
so the dealership is still selling these items then.

I went to the dealership a week ago, and they were available. The cost for these pieces is insanely high.

Front Bumper Mouldings - $380 Canadian
Rear Bumper Stripe - $96 (it is literally a strip of vinyl)

I was really tempted to get the front moulding, but for $400, that’s crazy expensive.
totally agree with you. they are crazy expensive.
I am living in Thailand so there is an extra international shipping cost for me.
these items cannot be purchased anywhere else so there really is no other choice for me.

I just looked at my spare STI sports clutch and clutch cover today and the engraving has both STI and Exedy logos on the metal.

I heard people were curious how the USDM tS uses the flexible draw stiffeners. Hope these pictures help.

Thanks so much for this!

It looks like the part I ordered is the right part for a tS. The problem is, the subframe is different on the non-tS car!!! None of those four bolt locations have corresponding holes to bolt to on a non-tS subframe.

So either USDM folks have to swap subframes or just buy the JDM ones. At this point, the JDM ones are way cheaper than doing a subframe swap.

It'd also be interesting to get someone with a 2018 non-tS to check their subframe to see if it has all the holes in place to install the tS stiffener. But I can confirm that 13-17 subframes do not have them.

interesting that Subaru went this way. You think for cost savings they share as many parts as possible between the two tS(usdm & JDM). Maybe it didn't matter. I assume the tS is a high margin car for Subaru.

Is it me or those new draw stiffeners look shorter than my old set.

Also when I bought my set from Japanparts, it came with a bracket and longer screws for the subframe, and the other end have wing bracket pieces. See how the rods have to be oriented like the pic above as written on the JDM instructions, not symmetrical like on the US BRZ tS car. The rods themselves are also polished stainless steel (not sure if the rod finish is the same on the new car, doesn't look that way on the pics).

They are way shorter. Like I said, I had a set of the new ones in my hands. It didn't line up with anything on my '17's subframe. The JDM ones look like they would bolt right up to my car.

Yes, the draw stiffeners in the US tS car seem to be totally different.

I would go with the JDM ones if you drive in winter salted roads (not sure if you guys get snow out west like we do in the east). Mine have no rusts on them after almost 5 years. I'm sure the transmission cover underneath helps a lot.

But at this point it seems like you can't even bolt on the US ones.

Looks like they needed to simplify the assembly as well in order to have it integrated into the factory production line. The JDM tS cars are all upgraded at STI for two weeks from the standard car after coming off the line.

It seems like they also have to keep the cost in line to even bring it over to North America and use more cost effective parts compare to the 2015 JDM BRZ tS while maintaining similar performance. This keeps the MSRP at an attractive level which is great for us.

I've read from someone in Japan here at the forum that Subaru couldn't even get fill 300 orders (lack of demand) for the first BRZ tS back in 2013.

Thanks for that info!

So looks like that new crossmember is maybe: 20101CA010
$215
https://www.subarupartsdeal.com/part...0101ca010.html

Considering the 13-18 show 20101CA000, this must prove that the tS does indeed get its own unique crossmember!

I’ll probably end up buying this crossmember as I stripped one of the holes in the oem one.

Also Japanparts is showing me $537 shipped for the JDM DS

A Subaru warehouse is showing me $696 shipped for the USDM DS and crossmember.

So $160 overall to go USDM, probably worth it to some people. Less length in the bar means less flexing in itself.

Sorry for the link instead of an embedded image, but imgur doesn’t play nice with my phone. The Enkei STI Wheels on the tS are still made in Japan.
