https://www.reuters.com/article/us-h...-idUSKCN2DC1Q3
Peru revises pandemic death toll, now worst in the world per capita Hungary was worst with around 3k deaths per million, but Peru is now claiming 5k deaths per million. For reference, the US is around 1.8k deaths per million. The US currently has 610k deaths, so if the US was Peru then they would have 1.7 million deaths. For perspective, 675k people in the US died of the Spanish Flu. With a population then of 103 million, that is equivalent to 2.2 million dying. Considering even Peru has more modern medicine than 1918, such a large death per capita drives home how devastating this has been.

Meanwhile, in the US, things continue to improve.
I think we'll see an upspike in about a month though, as pretty much everywhere I go the majority of persons are following the "vaccinated rules" released by the CDC in a much higher percentage than the actual vaccination rate. But then, I'm making that up, I have no basis for it.

Brings to mind, back in the day, when I was working at our corporate headquarters in CT. If you wanted to get a straight answer to anything it was best to communicate with most of the higher management before their 3 martini lunches -
