Eh, I'll trust the theory :P These aren't estimates anyhow, it's either more fuel or less, and past the stoichiometric point the more fuel you add the less you get.

I'm all for real results - math.

Its just too soon.

Once a few of these cars get a few more miles on them I'll be able to report back with info.

I wouldn't be surprised with there was a bump in fuel economy.

I know this has been covered before but I want to ask.... if I were to have my car tuned will I then have a method of reflashing back to stock for the sake of warranty work and then back to the desired state over again once I get the car back?

This is a good question.

With the EcuTek ProECU cable you'll be able to flash the car back to stock, then put the tune back in it whenever you want!

Let me know if you have anymore questions

Does the ECU have some sort of flash counter / modification flag / efuse that gets triggered upon flashing a new map?

Ecutek has their own.

When the car gets a dealer flash update the dealer tools mark the ecu with a time stamp and thingy to know it was updated with dealer tools and not some after market thing.

It doesn't automatically update, only the dealer tool can update that special marker.

If you did go to the dealer for a flash update you would dump the rom send it to me and I would insert the tune on that OR just save it as your stock rom.

But the dealer isnt checking anything unless you come in broken - so you have nothing to worry about + friendly with one of my local dealers so

Ah, ok see I didnt know you were tryin to keep both sets of wheels. You could always have sensors in both sets, would just have more initial cost.

Not keep the other set? You plan on driving on summers all year?

Can you please post the actual dynojet files or post a new graph with SAE correction factor and smoothing of 5 which is the industry standard as I am sure you know. Did you have a tach signal? Why did you post in MPH? Also conditions of each run would be nice.

Perrin's numbers make sense--I'm sure they leaned it out some and so did you. Why are you getting three times (depending how you calculate it) their numbers in terms of horsepower gain? Are you advancing the timing more? You can't be doing much with cam phasing because there's very little cam phasing near redline.
Buddy if youre skeptical dyno your own car or look at other tuners results for baseline power srt is getting 167hp stock and like 174 with exhaust so there baseline numbers are similar

So just to clarify this 18hp was with a header, or did the owner put a header on right after getting a tune?

Also, why do you have speed as your x axis instead of rpm?

I did. I'm just wondering if the dyno prior to the header was just so that you could show a base number gain? I read where you said "BONE STOCK" but then talked about the owner having a header on it.

It seems weird to have your car tuned, then go buy a header but no other exhaust pieces, and then come back for another tune.

I didn't see the x axis mentioned since the graph. I'm assuming it's just not set correctly when the test was run.

We had a problem picking up the tac signal ... so no rpm or trq.. But you get the picture.

This car I tuned is a shop car and they are testing out parts for a few different guys.

So normally your right - wouldn't make sense.

So car had no boltons during baseline and STG1 flash.. Now has a header, waiting to hit the dyno again
