Here is a quick and dirty update. Was told over the phone a couple days ago that there is no VON for my order because my order, and the order of everyone else on the pre-order list for this particular dealership, was made under the name of the dealership, not the customer's. Despite the fact that i put down 500 dollars for a deposit and gave them the trim and color of the car i wanted, and despite the fact that I was the one who let them know about the pre-order process (thanks to this forum), they still took my order and placed it under their name. After having a few calls and emails go unreturned (which probably irks me more than anything else), I went to the dealership to talk to general manager. I think i definitely caught them off guard by showing up, but then again, they dont realize who they are dealing with.

Make a long story short, I told them that this arrangement of them taking my money and calling my order their own is not what I signed up for. I told them that I wanted the order changed from their name to my name. I want a VON so I can keep up to date with the production of the vehicle. What I do not want, and what they were planning on doing, is ordering the car in their name, having it sent to the dealership, and having them charge whatever they want above MSRP (since it is techincally still their car and not mine). At least I respect them for admitting to me that this was their plan.

The general manager seemed to understand and was helpful. He left a voicemail in front of me with his district manager about changing the order to my name and "verbally" agreed to charge me MSRP. I will be contacting him on Monday. If they try to take advantage of me again, Im getting a Genesis coupe and calling it a day and will add their name to the dealership blacklist.

Wow sounds shady. I'm glad this is not e case with my dealership. I wonder if this has happened to others and they just don't know it.

yeah i've been in contact with Jose there though email for the last couple of weeks. I'm surprised i was able to wait until Saturday and still manage to get the first order, they said there was one other person that had come in to place and order but refused to leave the deposit without a price for the car.

i love the look the duckbill spoiler...MmMmM even when the duckbill is the whole trunk made in Carbon fiber...and paint some areas the color of the car and leave some carbon fiber accents
