^ Definitely this! I have faith Toyota will do well with this car. And if there are things that I don't quite like about it, I can learn to like them in time.

- Functional back seat
- Close to 50/50 weight distribution
- HID lights standard (at least on +$25k model)
- Suspension that rivals the Cayman (just hope they can pull this off like they said they were aiming for)
- Decent fuel economy, do low 20s city and low 30s highway mpg
- Comfy driver's seat with good support
- Power:weight ratio of ~ 1hp for every 12-13 pounds (for NA)
- Fun to drive
- Priced in low $20k starting
- Cloth Recaro's in the front
- Rear wiper

I'm sure I have missed something in there somewhere.

So what you're saying is you want Toyobaru to essentially build you a front engined 2+2 Porsche Cayman for half the price. Yeah that's not going to happen.

Hell they aren't even going to build you a 370Z for 2/3rds the price.

What you will get is a miata coupe with back seats for about the same price. If you're expecting anything different then be prepared to be really disappointed in this car.

Never said I was expecting all those features at low $20s. However I did say I hope the pricing starts out in the low 20s.

I forgot to add. Another minimum requirement.

Gorgeous Man friend that comes complementary with the car. And isn't scared when I tackle a corner. :3

actually i see this car starting at very low 20's with the premium version being premium ONLY because of interior luxury features like upgraded seats or something.

Keep in mind that this is not a Honda Accord, nor is it a Toyota Camry. A limited edition (if there is one) FT-86 will not have a wooden interior trim. As we see it now, Toyota has not made a sports coupe since the Celica. We just have to wait and see what surprises they have in store for us.

I would predict base model would be ~$23k.

LOL! Yes, she is. I wonder if you would have the same reaction if she requested a hot female in the passenger seat?

It's always nice to have some of the fairer sex on car forums. Rare, but nice.

For my minimum requirement, I'd like them to stick with the original plans for this car (lightweight, inexpensive, etc.), but I would also like something very particular... I want the oil filter to be easily accessible for changes. Removing the oil draining plug is usually cake, but sometimes the filters in cars are in the worst places! Oil gets everywhere and I HATE that! Not sure if it matters since the engine has already been selected (Subaru FB), but it would nice.

My current car has an oil filter cartridge that sits on top of the motor. Brilliant! You literally pull it out of the container, put a new one in, done. All cars should be like that. This picture is from the Chevy Cruze, but gets the point across.

the filter location on my truck makes for a zero-mess oil change, and i don't have to touch the oily cartridge. it's also easier for most people to get the gasket off the filter than it is to change that large o-ring on the cap. it doesn't really matter to me either way, i only hope that it's accessible and easy to reach without making a mess on the engine, the driveway, or my arm.

wait what? i meant like higher quality seats, more trim options maybe - keep in mind performance cars can have a few trim options that dont involve wood lol Nav will most likely be an option. Upgraded rims/wheels and a spoiler. im thinking if the Genesis coupe is any indicator...fully upgraded should be 25-26kish
