I haven't read the thread, have no idea if I'm the only one who hated switching off the tube. I think it is very ridiculous to do that.

My car is a 2018 BRZ AT. I hear some different kinds of sounds while driving. Some are not very pleasant, like a timing belt is struggling, and some other noises that I got used to hearing from "normal" cars such as a Corolla or Renault family car. However I also hear some good ones as well. Especially between 4000-5500 rpm there is a resonance like sound. I thought it was coming from the exhaust until I've done the switching-off thing. I remember I've read some comments people say something like "intake voice is stupid, and should be deleted for sure." So I was expecting to remove the unpleasant noises.

I couldn't hear a difference until ~3800 rpm when I do the switching-off; however after 4000 rpm, all the sound that I like is gone. What is left is what is I dislike to hear. I wasn't expecting a big difference. However the difference after 4000 rpm is like black/white. I like exaggerating things, but this is not one.

Maybe there is a problem on my ears that I cannot hear the frequencies that those who liked this mod can. But I literally felt like I'm driving a Corolla without the so-called stupid intake sound.

While making this tries, I've came across a great car. This one exactly:

I've followed it for a while, and I guess the driver understood how I liked his car, and showed me some of its capabilities, and it's great sound. I once drove that car and it was mind blowing.

I bought a BRZ, because I like a Ferrari more than a Corolla. If I wanted a silent car, and listen to its stupid engine's struggling sound, I would stay on my old Renault Clio!

Any mods on your car? I probably wouldn't like the intake tube blocking with stock exhaust either, but with an aftermarket one, it lets you hear the exhaust more. Whatever works for you. Heck, you can get a different tube which will make the intake sound even louder in your car.

Nope, everything is stock in my car. I'm sure a good exhaust would be very nice; however, it is very expensive to mod this car im my country; to me at least. Also some are so loud that would bother some people, which I would hate that. I do like the way it is now, even the torque dip is nice to me; helps me cornering better, or learn how to drive a rear wheel drive car properly.

I want the red one so badly.. Thank you very much for the information

Is this correct? Would it give harm to the car if I remove the foam from the stock tube?
"The Red removes all foam. You can probably get the same sound as the red by just removing the foam from your OEM sound tube"

The sound tube sucks... But, the hole is right below the battery, so I ran my 2awg sub amp power wire through it.

Nice to hear that I made someone happy I think, when you have too much torque available, it is harder to maintain the correct amount of push to the accelerator. I imagine cornering with a RW electrical car would be very difficult. Electrical go-karts are like that at least. I guess you have a great sensitive foot. I'm not that talented, and really happy with my car's torque dip.

Adding to the list of things that will plug the cabin tube:

I first tried it with the 12V plug cover, decided I liked it, but I wanted the plug cover to do its duty. I thought for a moment and went "aha!"

Every long-term cyclist using drop bars has handlebar end plugs kicking around in case one falls off the bike. I went into the basement and got one, and it fit nicely. It has the Cinelli logo on it too.
