I went with the BRZ limited because the dealer knocked $1000 off MSRP and did not charge a dealer fee. I went with the limited because I wanted the leather. Toyota wanted MSRP plus dealer fee so they were about the same price but the BRZ was better equiped.

My friend has an FR-S. I didnt really want to have the same brand car as my friend. His FRS feels too loose. My BRZ pushes in slow corners. Id like my car to be somewhere in between. Less push and a little more rotation but not as much as the FRS.

I initially wanted a Toyota 86 because of the price tag but I ended up with a BRZ because:

- Toyota's waitlist is so long, salesmen do not even entertain inquiries anymore
- Heard about shady transactions with Toyota (insisting on financing, compulsory purchase of accessories, etc.) while Subaru salesmen are more straightforward
- Subaru has less crowded dealerships for preventive maintenance
- Exclusivity (no shame in admitting I'm a sucker for this): The 86 is already a rare car on the road, but you can't beat 1 BRZ for every ten 86
- The BRZ schnoz and interior is more mature and therefore more "me" (I'm in my mid thirties and would most likely still own the car when I hit the big four-oh)
- Yeah, I'm a brand bitch, so sue me.

BRZ's headlights are directional, a plus if you want to go for blind attack:

I live in AZ as well, but my first car was a '94 BMW 325is (bought in 2005, here in AZ) and although they don't allow your back to breathe as well as cloth, they are sooo much nicer in every other way, that I won't ever buy a car with cloth seats (although I came close, initially wanting an FR-S). Even my '08 Mazda 3 had leather seats and I was very happy with them up until I traded it for my BRZ.

The BRZ Limited's seats provide a good compromise, as the bolsters are leather, with Alcantara on the part you actually sit on. The alcantara doesn't get as hot as leather, and it 'may' breathe better as well (that part I'm not certain on). Probably still not as good as cloth in the summer, but better than 100% leather.

Actually when I was talking about having something that breaths I was referring to leather/alcantara seats. So we are in agreement there. I'm not fond of normal cloth seats.

For $2500 more, I got everything a FR-S didn't especially the push start, HIDs, and spoiler for the limited, but they are both good cars. Like the design of the BRZ front a bit better.

Your jalopnik article proves nothing, just because Toyota made a release about the fit and finish on the FR-S and Subaru didn't make one about the BRZ doesn't mean they don't have the same problems. By saying the fit and finish is different implies that the two cars literally have different manufacturing planning and different employees putting them together... is this really what you believe?

Faster around a track isn't better. If you think faster around a track is better then you should have bought a Volkswagen GTI. You didn't so your argument is invalid.

Try to be like everyone else on here and provide some facts and sources instead of just spouting wild assumptions.
If I wanted a FWD GTI hatchback I would have bought a FWD GTI hatchback. I wanted an RWD sports coupe to replace a 330Ci. That's the most asinine comparison I've ever heard on a car forum.

I had to choose between two cars I really wanted. I chose the one with the stiffer stock springs. And as for proof, I posted proof of everything I just claimed, and you provided nothing but conjecture.

By the way, the Jalopnik article linked directly back to this forum and numerous owners complaining about the body panels. But you'd know that if you did an ounce of homework. Stop challenging every thing someone says in a BRZ thread to validate your own reasoning in buying the car you did. If you prefer the FRS suspension for drifting or whatever then fine.

Track times don't lie. I doubt you can convince anyone in here that when one car beats another consistently (regardless by how much) on the track that they're just the same, or one isn't better. Subaru has a different tune. Period. And to them, it's not a matter of preference, it's a matter of performance. And yet you're just throwing your hands up in the air and calling everyone else ignorant group thinkers without providing an ounce of proof.

Sorry about that, everything looks antagonistic when you're already arguing.

I meant the springs, was hammering out a response while getting pulled away from my desk. If I ever do replace them it'll be the last thing I do long after a turbo and all the accoutrements.

Internet pricing is a beautiful thing. I had two dealers undercutting each other on USAA and Costco car buying program quotes, while outbidding each other for my trade-in.

Man you americans have it so good, your getting the the cars for what sounds like 3-5k off canadian pricing, out the door, and f'n low interest rates. I had to pay 1% more at 4.9 compared to 3.9 for the frs, so bs... And don't even get me started on the wrx or sti.

Can someone confirm my assumption that the US is where they sell the twins cheapest? (Or any other car for that matter). From where I live, the price tag on the BRZ Limited is the same as a Porsche Cayman in the US, using direct foreign exchange conversion. I heard it's even worse in other countries like Singapore.
