You can run the 18x9.5 all around but with a 235 or smaller tire stretched. Otherwise if you run any bigger of a tire it will hit/rub against your suspension in the front. An option is to get 5-10mm spacers and then you can run the optimal 255 tire. But at that point the wheels will be sticking out from the fenders and not look good at all. Long story short. Anyone wanting to run an 18x9.5 square setup on an FRS/BRZ it is best to have coilovers. |

Perfect fit tires for 18x8.5"
finally had a chance to put 255/35 on my 18x8.5 42 57xtremes and this combination makes the protruding lip totally disappear!
unfortunately i strongly suspect a 255/35 tire will make make the front poke out a lot. will know over the weekend and post pics. pics of michelin pss 255/35/18 on 18x8.5x42 https://gyazo.com/511a1de27064bbd4d26fcd432aa0f65d https://gyazo.com/82d6e4920d32bb3c6681ae6871daa894 pics of front 18x8.5x42 with kumho 235/40/18 tires (note how much the lip sticks out) https://gyazo.com/b958465a3657a8eceb72400d46fb46f0 |

I am on Tein coilovers with about a 3/4" drop and no camber in front and there is absolutely no rubbing. Yes, there's a bit of poke on the front but not that big a deal. Last edited by godzuki; 11-06-2017 at 09:56 PM. |

24.6 stock diameter. 255/40 has a 26" diameter, which is 6% larger. Generally you don't want more than a 3% +/- difference.

Yes, it is recommended to get rear LCAs to get your camber back to or close to within OE spec. Since when you lower your car the geometry will be much different and these cars do not have any adjustment from the factory.
