I'm sadly too late to ask Scion but I see my question was sort of asked anyway, so that's good.

Mr. Tada, thank you for building the 86, it's something Toyota and it's fans have needed for many years. My only regret, and I doubt you can do anything about this but I have to ask, is that I and many others do not get to enjoy a Toyota 86 GT Limited in Canada or any Toyota sports.. no, performance cars, in Canada (North America). I'm a long standing Toyota fan and I feel abandoned with the Scion offering. I have attempted to contact Toyota Canada via multiple channels and not a single one has been able to assist me in acquiring the parts necessary to do a conversion on a Scion FR-S to a Toyota 86 GT Limited, since Toyota refuses to offer their version here. They simply refuse to help me get the parts even though I'm willing to pay. All versions of the car, Toyota, Scion, Subaru, all come from the same plant along with all of their parts. Why are we not able to obtain those parts from a Toyota dealer and can you make this happen or advise the people who can make this happen? The North American version of the Subaru BRZ has most of those options, so why can't Toyota get them?

Is there plans if any to involve Yamaha with further development of the engine like most of the high performance Toyota engines?
I know it's primarily a Subaru engine but Yamaha has always help develop their high performance engines, example BEAMS 3SGE, 4AGE, JZ engines and the powerful 1LR-GUE in the LFA.
Don't forget the 2ZZ-GE.

stupid question, but why did you let Toyota USA label it a Scion rather then its true banner of Toyota? the Subaru is pure Subaru BRZ, why couldnt we have pure Toyota GT86?

I think, nothing to do with Tada-san on this one. More like Toyota NA Marketing decision.

Now that Scion will take part. The only thing I want to know is what they think of the crickets inside the engine bay. They weren't in my engine when I bought the car so how can I get rid of them? They are very annoying and I want them gone ASAP

So that's something that tuners will have to find out on their own and at their own risk.
they can do it in a lab lol without a turbo. they can measure the forces that the internals can handle without deforming and sustaining damage.

More like Toyota was N/A in their marketing decision here in the U.S.

Can you close this thread and start a new one with the answers?

I think that may be a good idea.

Once the closing date (Dec. 16th) arrives, I am on board for this.

On Dec 16th morning (my morning), I'll close the thread... When I get both (Tada-san & Scion) replies back, I'll make a new thread with answers to some of the questions

thanks ichi-san for doing this. my question to chief engineer tada-san:
