Had plenty of Covid positive and recovered patients who displayed some type of cognitive/mental status changes and memory issues.

I’m pretty sure there’s been articles published covering the research on some of these instances.

Have one Pt now who’s at the facility following a TBI and ARF. Substance abuse as well. Has been fairly impulsive and with very limited safety awareness and problem solving/sequencing abilities; but got Covid a couple weeks ago and those symptoms have since been exacerbated a bit. Recovered now, but the AMS still seems to be present from time to time during sessions, making it harder to keep them focused and on track.

I have noticed that as well with some of the folks I know that caught COVID.

It appears that Sweden's and the US death rate tracked pretty closely until early 2021. If you want an explanation I would start there.

Could be any number of things. I remember reading something about Swedes commonly taking vitamin D supplements due to lack of sunlight and that might boost their immune systems. Could also be genetic or just people live healthier there.

Hospital census is down to less than 10 COVID patients systemwide. It was 10x that mid February, and this is the lowest it's been since it has been tracked.

We dropped vaccine passport requirements for restaurants and other public establishments as of March 1. Fingers crossed that we continue to move forward.

Herd immunity, they had a very high initial spike, everyone was talking crap about them not locking down not taking it seriously etc... but they had a plan from the beginning and stuck to it. Now they have much better rates than several other prominent 1st world countries who had much more stringent lockdown regulations, and they didn't have to suffer and sacrifice the quality of their lives at the same time like these other countries that are now worse off in basically all regards. They basically took the rip the band-aid off approach as apposed to the slow and agonizing method.

The other idea is that they put a lot of focus on public awareness / education so people knew the risks and made better decisions like proper hygiene etc...
With the government lockdowns/mandates it gives a false sense of security people stop taking other precautions thinking the masks are providing much more protection then they actually are, but not wearing them properly, reusing old masks, constantly touching the masks, taking them on and off all the time etc... put you at much higher risk.

It's like wearing a condom so you think you can go screw everyone at a brothel and be protected vs not wearing one but being overly cautious of who you are going to screw.

This is what I've said from the beginning, there are so many ways to improve the outlook and reduce risk of death by improving ones own health. Yet obesity rates only increased during the pandemic.

Been saying this since day one…

“ For particles with a diameter of 1.5 micrometres – the typical size of Covid-bearing particles – the team estimated woven fabric is only 2.5 to 10 per cent efficient”

Probably half the people i see wearing masks are wearing cloth masks.

I don’t know if age allows us easier ingestion of our words but I’d rather fucking choke them down than continue through any of this. Having said that, holy fuck am I glad to see at least this progression at work. I thought myself and all my coworkers were going to get sick with a nearly full repopulation this spring.
