Long overdue update, but my car was repaired with a new ECU in January. #213 on the list.

My car has shook a lot with weird idling too, i thought was cause the weather. It happened only like 2 or 3 times, but never again. Bought in December, so maybe the weather change cold/hot? 6k miles strong now and hopefully no more problems...

just got my first CEL/traction control light today with just over 6000km (3700miles). took delivery of my BRZ in Oct 2012. not sure if this is psychological but it feels like my car is slow to accelerate compared to to my RPMS (like my clutch is slipping). hopefully my clutch is fine. as this is my first MT car, is a slipping clutch more of a gradual thing? or does it just go one day? my car was fine this morning, but once the CEL came on the car started to act weird.

dropped it off at the dealership today - this is the third time i've had to bring it in for warranty engine work...first two times were for a leaky gasket. fingers crossed that the third time is the charm.

In normal use, a clutch will show signs of wear gradually.

What "leaky gasket"?

Thanks.

Any new tsb or updates? My car has about 9000 km's, been running fine until I had the dealership perform an oil change. Ever since then it's been a series of trips back to the dealership.

1. P0017 code --> Replace ECU
2. P0019 code --> ECU Flash
3. P0019 code --> At the dealership for more diagnostics

Update VI: 8/7/13 Picked up car from dealership. Engine harness replaced, battery replaced and third ECM replacement combined to make my BRZ drivable. No issues after 50 miles down the road. Five weeks plus another three weeks of waiting to find time to get the car ready for tow truck ride to dealer. :-p

Sewell Subaru played fair and kept me posted as to their repair efforts.

Update V: 8/4/13 Subaru Super tech called out an engine harness after two days of hands-on troubleshooting. Replaced harness and battery under warranty. As of 8/2/13 engine starting and running with second ECM.

Update IV: 7/22/13 second ECM did not fix problem. Got different set of failure codes. Subaru technical spoke with and a download sent for analysis. No definitive solution set. Subaru engineering said to T/S wiring harness. No faults found in wiring harness-wiring, pins, plugs. Dealer service called today for local Subaru engineering rep to hands-on troubleshoot My BRZ.

Update III: 7/11/13 Dealer ordering engine control module. The wait begins.

Tried to start car this morning and got erratic idle. Car not driveable. CEL et. al. Looks like Subaru will get to pay for a transport to the closest dealership in Dallas next week. Will post fun that is had.

Vin 04439x delivered nov 2012 1850 miles.

Service writer suggested Crawford AOL gets removed before having car transported to dealership.

New: Been taking engine compartment upgrades off the the car before heading to the dealer via transport truck.

Awaiting OEM crank pulley from FrankenStein (Thanks for the assist!!). I wanted to remove the Perrin pulley, but my OEM pulley has made a successful break for freedom. Remember no good deed goes unpunished.

OEM Pulley received from RacerDrew today (July 9th). Schedule for rest of week problematic. Maybe Friday I can get the car and me to the dealership.

At the dealership now. Rough idle/stalls last night, rough idle today in traffic, then stalled at an intersection. Tech took it right in.

Edit: I have the aem intake and they said they weren't going to touch the car. After a discussion, they're flashing it. Don't bring it in with an aem intake is the moral of the story.

Has anyone person had to have a ecu reset or reflashed or a engine replaced yet with a automatic?

If you read some old trasmission interview stuff they say they were messing with the mt cars upuntill production. They say it was the trans they were playing with to get right. I'm not so sure anymore.

Do you have the paperwork on how they reflashed your ECU? I'm thinking they aren't fixing anything yet, because if they couldn't find a reflash in the system, and me reseting my ECU on the side of the road (take your negative terminal off and touch it to the positive side to do this) has made mine run 100%, I don't think we really need to take it in until we get a real fix. This is just a theory, of course.

Yes, the paperwork says "Found updated program for ECM to address code P0019, reflashed and fixed the issue".

Really? They actually wrote "and fixed the issue"?

About to hit 13k with no reappearance of cel since flash

Don't give up hope. It's not easy but it is possible to see an end. Be sure to open a case file with you manufacture.
