Hey guys, just today I noticed a humming/whistling noise while on throttle. It's most apparent in 6th gear. The pitch concurrently gets higher as the speed/rpm increases. It only happens when I'm on throttle. When I let off, it goes away, and comes back the second I'm on it again. Anyone else notice this or know if its an issue?

Turn the stereo off, and check. Some cars will get noise induced with the ac on and since 6th gear is the least amount of exhaust noise it's more noticeable. If it was me if pull the review write off the ano to test as the amp may stay on even with stereo off.

may the schwartz be with you....

Do you have any extra electronics installed? New deck, amp, etc?

@Juggles yes, to your questions. head unit, speakers, amps are aftermarket.
@captain_jack I thought it may have been stereo related as well, but I am almost certain that it was coming from the engine bay. I only muted the sound when I was listening for it on my drive to work this morning, but I'll try turning it off completely. If it were electronic related, would it make sense that the hum is there only when I'm on the throttle?

Yes it is inducted noise through the electronics. Could be rca's to close to anything or bad ground.many things really. Have you noticed it since you have been using the ac versus when not

may the schwartz be with you....

I'll have to later with the AC off and on to see if there's a difference.

Lost my wallet yesterday, and as I was going through the steps to replace everything, I just find out the cost to replace my permanent resident card is $450.

-_-

Who did I piss off to deserve the past couple of weeks?

Disconnect the power to your amp and retest it. If this solves the issue you probably need some in line filters to kill certain frequencies... I've had this issue on a couple car audio setups

I have this issue in both my FRS and my Girl's 09 Corolla. (Her car is AT) No idea what causes it, but I'd like it to go away

9 out of 10 times it's either the rca's to close to something or it's a poor ground.

may the schwartz be with you....

HAHAH every time I see your signature, CJ. My last name is Schwartz.

Anyway, Both cars are on stock audio. the 09 has done it since I can remember and my car I don't know how common it is, since I mainly hear it on freeways and not all the time at that

Probably a bad ground in the radio itself, unless they have a factory amp and then it could be in either piece.

may the schwartz be with you....

We had a guy in Basic who's last name was Schwartz, one of the Drill Sergeant's would constantly go looking for him saying he wished he had him as a private in his platoon then proceed to yell out "Use the Schwartz!" constantly to him and everyone else around.
