I don't think he is any luckier then any other driver, he just wins so much it gets a larger spotlight put on it.

Valid point. I still disagree, but I'll try to look at it that way this season and see.

Due to the bickering between our levels of government (Federal,Provincial,City) & health time has run out.

F1 bosses will announce formally in a few hours the Montreal race scheduled June 11-13 will be cancelled.

In its place the contenders likely would be announced in the coming days and could be Turkey (Istanbul) or a slim possibility of Nürburgring but that already has a 24hr race the week before.

The Ring GP track would be great if there was a 24 race the weekend before because many spectators would make a week long holiday of it and it could increase ticket sales. Oh, and it's a great race track for good passing etc.

I'm excited to see the qualifying spring race though. It could suck, but it could be great view fun. At least they're trying something different that isn't a stupid gimmick like the "Fanboost" in Formula E.

It’s been confirmed just before noon that Turkey gets the cancelled slot June 11 to 13.

As for the new sprint qualifying format I am on the fence for this, It will depend how they pull it off round One before I call it a gimmick!

Since I can’t invite you all over to watch the next race the next best thing would be if any of you could try to win something ….

I don't understand the whole sprint race qualifying. They have to do a qualifying to determine the starting position of the sprint race that will determine the starting position of the real race?
So what happens when everyone crashes their cars doing stupid things to try to improve their starting position for the real race? I would wager large sums that the driver qualifying for pole in the sprint, will have the pole for the real race start. And all the middle teams will be trying to repair their cars in a rush.

Yeah, I don't get it either. I love the current qualifying format. I think it is more exciting then the racing most of the time.

Just like a few years ago. F1 trying to "fix" qualifying.

The problem is that the race is more boring because the guys in front are always the guys in front. And it's usually beneficial to pace to be in front. The idea is to mix up the field so back teams can win a few points once in a while. Otherwise why should they bother trying to race if it only makes a difference between 0 points and 0 points.

Not sure that this format accomplishes it, but I'm definitely for making it slightly more difficult to keep winning.

I guess I can see that. I can also see it as a chance for a car that should have made it into Q2 or Q3 but had an issue, getting another chance to improve their qualifying.

They need to keep Portugal on the calendar, that was a fun race to watch. I think Alonza getting back into the grove as he was flying toward the end of the race at some points almost matching Hamilton's lap times.

I agree, Portugal was a fun race. Hamilton put out an incredible race. Mazepin needs to leave, that guy is danger to himself and others.

Mazepin bought his way in with his father's money. Many drivers have bought their way in and some even turned out to be great drivers ie. Nika Lauda. Mazepin is not one of them and yes he needs to go regardless of daddy's money. He is going to get someone hurt.
