Mine finally shipped, ~6AM April 20th Hong Kong time, order placed on April 11th. Looks like they're taking a bit longer to ship out now. Good news is it's in Ohio already.

I don't have the oem audio plus - but it will work, I looked through their guide and its nothing this wouldn't handle.

probably would sound better too.

Honestly speaking - i'd get the antenna adapter at bare minimum. That said it'll be fantastic without any of that stuff anyways.

Pulled mine this weekend to re-route the USB and iPod a bit cleaner. Also ran my OBD2 extension cable over to the glovebox so that the bluetooth reader can be left in all the time without having to worry about it sticking out of the dash. Cool!

I mean you could use the left and right audio out but then the sub amp would be responsible for filtering out the highs. I'm currently tapping into the rear stock amp for signal so I know anything I do will be an improvement.

It is though, currently the head unit only supports the A2DP (Calls, audio streaming), AVRCP profiles (remote control) and OBD2 adapters (probably a SPP or serial port profile) over bluetooth. It does not support the tethering profile. You're stuck with wifi as you only choice there. It would need the DUN or LAP profiles to handle tethering via bluetooth.

Can that be fixed through root though.

Good idea. I should use this opportunity to reroute my obd2 extension to glove. Should be perfect for dongle and Open Flash Tablet when needed. Not sure how I want to use usb but from what it sounds like we can only use it for storage.

Possibly, however it could be a hardware limitation as the guys on xda-devs mentioned with the generic 4.1.1 android unit with almost identical specs to the CaFi. The first step to finding out would be to gaining root access.

I wouldn't buy this because it doesn't play CDs.
I started out with an 8-track player in my car, then cassettes, then CDs, now those are becoming obsolete.
Feels like if I were just a little older I could have talked God out of making the mosquitoes.

You just dated yourself, and I'm going to have to call BS on the "Mid_life" portion of your username.

People still use CDs in their car?

When you can - with the click of a button - rip a CD, then put that CD, as well as hundreds of your other favorite albums on a thumb drive, why would you ever limit yourself to a medium that can't even hold over 80 minutes of audio?

I did my first car stereo upgrade when I was 17. Cassettes were well established, but I had an 8-track collection I got from older siblings and everything I put in the car had to come from a discount rack, so 8-tracks it was.
A Craig (remember them?) under dash unit with a whopping 15 watts per channel in simulated quadraphonic sound with an FM tuner built in (lots of cars then had just an AM tuner from the factory) and I forget what the speakers were. Probably Craig or Jensen, which by today's standards were crap but were so far beyond anything you could get from the factory at the time that they sounded amazing.

Because if you rip them for max sound quality, they fill up a thumbdrive in a hurry.
It's easier to just grab a few disks on my way out the door.
