The MX5 is one of the best reviewed cars ever, having piled up accolades for its fun-to-drive dynamics over the last 23 years. On paper, it looks horrible and on the track it doesn't post especially fast laps. My last three cars destroy my MX5 in a straight line, yet the MX5 is far more fun (top up or down).

The Mustang V6 (with performance package) and V8 are both great bang-for-your-buck cars. Both have done very well on the track, beating much more expensive cars. If you want a new car the track, they can be great choices.

But their shifters are crap (by my standards) and when the road isn't smooth, their suspension and weight really hurt their dynamics. Every car is a compromise and we all have different priorities; test drive before you buy.

Also the mustang interior is crap too. 2014 is going to be an all new mustang.

I'm not into muscle cars, and at the last joke-of-an-auto-show we had I was very interested in Caterham (yay! in Romania, as well!) and Lotus than in Camaro (not as a buyer). Hmm... Caterham Experience Days...

on high hp and tq cars, you need a larger diameter tire, for the main fact small tires have smaller contact patches, also having too little unsprung weight in a higher hp application it doesnt help traction

larger diameter tires spin slower to cause the same amount of acceleration as smaller tires, you dont see mustang people going over and asking the miata people to use their rims and tires do ya?

smaller diameter tires of the same grip level as the 19 tires on the mustang would cause a ton of wheel spin and loss of grip, the car already eats through its first gear when accelerating, if anything it needs more contact patch and the only way to get that is to go wider or add diameter and the mustang weighs enough to actually be able to use that extra grip
the brz on the other hand wouldnt gain any grip by getting larger diameter tires simply because you would have less pounds per square inch pushing down on the tires

both the GTR and the bugatti both weight a ton, in fact almost 2 tones, that taller diameter and wider tires is defiantly a necessity ,they have enough weight
rule of thumb if you are having traction problems, add more tire diameter if you can, if your having cornering problems then add tire width

The only things i can really think of:

1.) One of only a handful of 4 bangers that can rev to 8000 (high rev)
2.) Similar power output.
3.) VEE TAKKK!!!! (ok well more specifically the cam profile changeover giving you that high end kick)

No other 4 banger motor really fits these.
