Good one sir. So it is like the coroner said "Both are dead seconds after the impact ?"

I guess. They can tell if it was from smoke/fire or physical trauma. That's a different video then the security camera one I've seen. If someone shot live they should have ran to the scene for sure to assist if possible even if it had been pointless as it turned out.

Coroner's report stated causes of death as physical trauma and fire. So if the traumatic injuries didnt finish them, the fire did. Kinda hoping that they didnt last long enough to feel the fire.

For Paul yeah. The driver was trauma I think. Yeah I hope he was unconscious for the fire I'd never wish that on anyone.

Exactly my point. I have no idea why, but even if it wasn't Walker, that someone should have rush forward to helps

I agree. The footage I've seen was from a sec camera. No one was watching it. I haven't clicked on your video above. If someone just watched... Ugh. After the fire started I understand. Nothing you can do but with two minutes before.....

Just wondering how important the "Facebook likes" were compared to getting out of the car and trying to help save a life.............maybe this thread would not be needed if someone put the phone down and tried to help instead.

Don't judge if you weren't there. I wasn't but I have friends who were one of the first on-site with fire extinguishers.

Do you have any idea how dangerous a vehicle fire is, especially if the fuel tank may pop? It won't blow up like what you see in the movies but it's bad enough to make you not be able to approach. And the fuel spray and heat prevents anyone from getting close.

Or better yet, go light a moderately-sized bonfire and see if you can get close enough to the flames to not be injured. There were tons of people on-site AFTER the wreck with fire extinguishers, and even they can't put out the fire with proper tools. The fire was eventually put out by the fire department.

Sometimes the film (as bad as it sounds) helps any type of investigation, since there were no witnesses to the wreck itself. This can improve safety features of future vehicle designs if a side impact can cause this type of damage.

In any case, too many assumptions and jumping to conclusions. If you weren't there, don't pass judgment on what should or should not have been done. Efforts to help WERE made.

By the way:

The CNN video is from a security camera across the street. The "zoom" is from an enhancement/zoom of the footage done by CNN.

Nothing more to say on this. This footage made the news only because the owner(s) of that business that had the camera went to work on Monday and found themselves with valuable info that helps the police investigation.

My Apologies. I was actually thinking the Footage from the news was from someone else filming it and zooming without coming toward to helps. But, it does seem that it is from a stationary camera.

I do know the risk, it is just too Sad to see how long it was before the fire spread to that level.

I truly thank to your friends for his bravery. I still can't believe Paul is gone just like that...how will FF be

There are plenty of videos from dashcams on YouTube, that shows what happens when a car gets in a wreck and catches on fire.

There was one from Taiwan (I won't link it, you can look it up yourself "car crash fire"), where the car catches on fire immediately after impact. The occupants are passed out but the fire spread really quick.

If the impact temporarily knocked Rodas & Walker out, no amount of safety equipment would save them if the fire spread really fast. Remember that even with a racing suit, Nomex slows down a fire (but it still will eventually burn). No one knows the exact situation but I think the police will have a good idea of whether they were trapped inside the car or not.

No need to thank anyone at this point, I had to see some truly sad faces on Saturday night.

My buddy has a pre-order going for this t-shirt in honor of Paul's passing. The shirt is screened by hand at his ILTHY workshop in Cleveland and all proceeds go to Reach Out World Wide to benefit disaster relief in the Philippines.

If you like it, check it out, it's a great company and a great way to support Paul's charity.

My assumption and conclusion is based upon what the coroner report said, fire and impact injuries killed them.

And from watching a video that clearly shows some asshat stopping his car and backing up to get a better shot at the wreck but did not bother to try and help.

So I have every right to say what I did because that is what some jack wad did, film and post on Facebook without any attempt to help.......

You then assume I don't know how bad a car fire could be, lets see, you don't know what experiences I have had and how I have been involved in plenty of racing incidents that have been fire related, rollovers, and not to mention the fact that I have three fused vertebra in my neck from a 150 mph + wreck at a track.......caused by a clutch exploding, blowing through the passenger compartment, knocking me out from the force of the explosion, then hitting the sand trap at full speed.

You say I do know how bad this type of thing can be, really.

Am I glad to know that someone risked thier life to save mine, you bet. Even if it was a safety safari crew, my car was on fire and they got me out.....sure am glad they did not stop to film it first then think about helping me.

Anyone has the right to voice their opinion here, while you may state yours as well........but I take great acception to your statement: "Do you have any idea how dangerous a vehicle fire is" YES I DO.

And this:

"In any case, too many assumptions and jumping to conclusions. If you weren't there, don't pass judgment on what should or should not have been done. Efforts to help WERE made."

Too bad, you get to hear our opinions.......more effort went into filming the result than people helping........if you don't like it

PUT THE DAMN PHONE DOWN.....................other peoples lives are at stake!!!

Yeah, the 5pm cruise is gonna meet with the 7pm one somewhere down the line.

I'll be attending the 5pm and hopefully meeting up with the 7pm guys, and then ending it all together.
