Mount Tamalpais...An hour and half to a the meet. I missed it by 18 minutes. I looked around the area. They disappeared without a trace like smoke. I needed to go to the bathroom anyways! After finishing up my business at the Coffee Shop, I drove up on Bolinas RD towards Mount Tamalpais. More than a half a year ago I drove that mountain. Reminds me of riding in a roller-coaster up and down slopes with bumps/shakes in them. Left and right curves with big blind spots around the U's. Large hills that slowly takes you to the top before the drop! Roads deep in the forest carved around the mountain. The road elevation just gets higher and higher. Driving along the ridge of yellow hills towards the west you will see the Pacific Ocean. Cold breeze moving in and large clouds covering the sky. Bicyclist, hikers, and runners alike getting their exercise on! Some stopped to pause and take in all the beauty there is.Guilty, I did it too hahaha. Finally, I reached the top of Mount Tamalpais. The group wasn't there. I took some pictures then sat there eating a banana and relaxing. Overlooking San Francisco. The Golden Gate Bridge. Pacific Ocean. mmmmm. mmmm beautiful! I drove all the way home on a different path and enjoy the ride down.

@Simpleviet shame you were late and couldn't join us. At least you were able to get a drive out of it.

First time going up mt tam and it was great. Worth getting up early. On the way back home, I got a bit turned around cause I wanted to go up 101 and then take 37 to Vallejo but my Nav decided it didn't want to do that... Ended up in a parking lot trying to figure out where to go

Anyway, I let the nav system drive me to a toll bridge :| For my troubles I stopped in Fairfield for some Chic-fil-a... Decided to get lost and make my way into Travis AFB. To my completely surprise and excitement, there's an airshow going on this weekend (F22 ).

Got a nice drive and an airshow out of today. Couldn't ask for more :P

Your pics of the Mt Tam drives inspired me to take a drive up to Lake Alpine today. Hadn't been up there in over 14 years or so since I used to live in the Sonora area.

I did the mt tam drive today and it was an awesome drive! Thanks for posting it up. Unfortunately there were some portions along the bolinas/fairfield section that are pretty rough on a lowered car like mine. But I made it out okay, and the car is still in good shape.
