I don't think people do it to increase the price of the car.

Anyways back to topic,

Oh I didn't think they did. The point of why it was brought up was simply that some people were paying the equivalent of the new, much higher price just to have it badged what is will be now.

2016 - $25,395
2017 - $25,495
Between the approx. $800 premium for the Toyota over the "Premium" BRZ and the questionable front-end restyling on the GT86 refresh (trying to be charitable here), here's a fairly safe call: going forward, the sales ratio between the two is going to skew heavily towards the Subaru relative to past years (assuming production follows demand).

Price went up for the 2017 86: $27,120 for a manual-equipped model, an increase of $950 compared to the 2016 FR-S. Getting into a Toyota 86 with an automatic transmission will cost $27,840.

BRZ listed at $25,495..BRZ FTW!!!

I think you underestimate the power of a Toyota badge.

2017 Toyota 86 - new name, styling, and more power

Removal of Scion logo from the Audio Deck $0.00

$200.00CDN Total for me.

I think the 86 steering wheel emblem looks superb. I would never pay $500.00+ for the authentic one. Way too much money when you can have this for much less and still look good

I like it and think it looks awesome and is a great alternative ^__~

I see many things I don't like on this forum in regards to what people do to these cars, but I don't go around calling things they like "ugly and ghetto"...really a asshole move on you part.

Just say you don't like it...why be such a jerk about it?

Honestly, it's why I barely post here anymore...constant hate and shit talking.

~

Reminds me, when you asked for me to make a cabin video of the exhaust, I took the time and made the video for you and this is how you thank me later ^__~

I dunno, I'm not bias towards any of the two brands. From Facia aside...But for that 800$ you get Nicer Seats and a better interior trim than the premium(I don't have full data on the premium atm, it seems that it's the exact same interior as the out going 16, plastic dash piece, cloth seats) you also get a rear diffuser on the 86 as well. That's seems pretty fair for 800$. Also once things are said and done if you haggle and talk prices, and Toyota rebates and other things it will probably be close to each other on the out the door part.

I also have doubts at Subaru's starlink and stereo system in the Premium BRZ, the limited has more items iirc. Compared to Toyota Pioneer system they put in the 86 and Scion cars. Like it or not Scion did invest a lot of money to give you a good stereo system in their cars. And this unit is the improved unit over the 2016, it should also have been updated for CarPlay and Android auto. When it's looked at this way. It's worth that 800$.

Even if it's 950$ I still think it's worth it on many levels.

Maybe....

The base 86 seats are nicer than the FRS base seats, but I don't think there is any difference in quality/material between the 86 seats and the BRZ Premium. The new 86 seats look almost identical to the seats offered in the RS 1.0.

I also thought the spoiler was going to be standard with all trims of BRZ now?

Am I mistaken?

Sir you are right on the money it's very similar seats to the RS1 the parts are alittle different in the new 86 via bits of Alcantra on the seats etc.

No solid data on that spoiler on all BRZ

Nice one
