I sorta learned to drive stick in the Corvair. I spent the summer on GrandmaHawk's diary farm, and when I was about 12, she had to have an operation on her right arm. We would go into town, her driving and using the clutch, me shifting gears.
That's the same Corvair that in the early 70's I almost fell through the passenger floorboard of while driving into down. Slipped forward when she hit the brakes and I put both feet through the floor. They traded it in not to long after that.

I was seven when the Kennedy assassination occurred, in second grade. I saw Lee Harvey Oswald murdered on live television by Jack Ruby. Very tragic times.
