would it change the value proposition if I told you I was gonna get it with the Apple employee discount? I guess I will pay the Apple store a visit and see what the "geniuses" there recommend. Perhaps I will find a Microsoft store too and give them a fair shot as well.

Seems like the story changed dramatically from what we heard last time at Dublin. If the warranty isn't preserved with the TRD SC, then there isn't much point in going with them, is there? Vortech SC is much better value then.

That is pretty ridiculous for paint, surely you could find a cheaper shop to paint that isn't terrible in quality. Price for the bumper is pretty typical though.

How much is an employee discount? I had the student discount when I got mine and it was still ridiculously expensive. I guess if you just want a plug and play, Mac is a good option with iMovie right out of the box. If you're gonna go windows, I'd build my own, buying PCs from stores just come with way too much bloatware. Just started messing with Linux, I love getting free stuff!

Nope. Vortech we know works and the simplicity of a garage-install is even better. Not to mention we have an local expert on that matter that we could help from.

IKR but that's a quick over-phone-estimate with a local IMO high-end painter that loves insurance work. Besides, color and technique costs too and I've had my fair share of none-working-computer-match painters. I'd pay extra to exact match my ultramarine.

That has changed dramatically. When the TRD SC first came out they said it was like 20K each, and you had to buy 2. Vortech or Innovate FTW. Plus they will both be carb legal in the end.

It's for racing cars, not for street cars. They only built it for racing homoligation.

After all said and done, it may cost that amount. Fuel system and/or rails plus pump, tuning, and installs may not be cheap. Def for the real racers. The upside is it's TRD FWIW.

Vortech, just b/c of a local user, I like. Not paying much attention but if Vortech was/is/are on the CARBing side, I'd be counting my pennies now.

Also found out, mods do not affect warrantee work as long as the work is not associated with the mod.

about 30% off retail. Yeah it's still pricey stuff but certainly better than most people have to pay. oooh i just saw the little microsite for the new mac pro. that is one sexy looking machine but probably too rich for my blood.

I'm pretty tech savvy and used to always build my own systems and spend hours tweaking the configs to get stuff to work right. But now I'm getting old and as I get busier, I just want stuff to work right out of the box. That's the appeal of the Macs. I see all my coworkers going in this direction and don't want to waste my time troubleshooting like the old days... you old guys remember COM ports and all that jazz? LOL
