We get it bro, you don't like how the car looks. Cool story.
@Ashikabi Nothing really all too wrong with the ZZT230. The looks are hit and miss with most people, especially if the TRD aero kit was involved. I always was, and still am, neutral on their looks.
What do you drive, again?

No, I’m not suggesting anything. I asked why detune the Civic R engine for use in a mini NSX.

By posting the burned NSX prototype krayzie implied that it was due to too much power .

I was being facetious using tayob’s photo in reply.

However, we are getting off topic. Sorry about that.

I don't think youre insane. I would rather have a Matrix XRS over the Celica. Just think about all the groceries you could fit in there.

I found the Matrix XRS the least attractive of the XRS trinity (including the Matrix's twin, the Pontiac Vibe GT in said trinity), but holy shit that looks damn gorgeous.

There's something awesome about having the whole Celica GT-S package (2ZZ-GE) in an otherwise mundane (to most people) and unassuming Toyota to complement the FR-S.

My two currently running cars are an 87 Corolla SR-5 coupe and an '06 Fusion base for a daily beater.

Edit: technically the 85 corolla GT-S runs and drives, but the first cop that sees it on a public street would probably have it impounded. And technically the 85 SR-5 hatch runs, but idles at 3500rpm.

I worked at a local Toyota dealership in '05 when the corolla XRS had just come out. Took it for a test drive and yes, it was definitely fun winding out the 2ZZ in that thing. I look around for them every now and then as a possible daily replacement. As expected, hard to find.

Toyota USA has released several press releases on their website regarding the 2017 Toyota 86.

1) Toyota 86 Product Information (8/12/16)

http://pressroom.toyota.com/releases...sports-car.htm

This confirms that the 2017 Toyota 86 will remain a monospec model, much like the 2017 Yaris iA that they also confirmed as monospec in a previous press release from July 29th. The 2017 Yaris iA increases in price compared to the 2016 model, which leads to recently announced pricing for the 2017 Toyota 86...

2) 2016-2017 Toyota Full-Line and Scion Pricing (8/18/16)

http://pressroom.toyota.com/article_...rticle_id=3890
http://pressroom.toyota.com/article_...rticle_id=3890 (link to PDF)

The 2017 Toyota 86 MSRP (before delivery, processing, and handling) will be $26,255 for manual, $26,975 for automatic (indicated as ECTi).

A question for the more knowledgeable out there;

Taking an educated guess, do you guys think there will be a Toyota equivalent for what Scion does with the Release Series X.0 (meaning a limited edition of some sort)?

I'm in talks with my dealer and told my sales guy to just put me down for a pearl white fully loaded '17 when its available. Don't know if i should lock that in or wait and HOPE theres a limited edition.

All of this is hypothetical though, so call me crazy if you need.

I guess it depends on what options you want. You say that you're ready to commit to a "fully loaded" MY17, but the post above you confirms that this car will only be offered as a base model.

If you want options like leather, and push button start I would wait.

I'm sure it won't be out this year if there is going to be one. If your can wait a year to see, do it. If you can't, get a MY17

Options I really only do care about are push to start and butt warmers for the cold winters. I guess I have no choice but to play the waiting game unless something changes...

I installed push start on mine aftermarket. It was a pain in the ass but doable. I'll try to get a write up for it eventually
