Agree with this 100%. With my only experience being a year at an ice cream shop and 2 months at Wal-Mart, I applied at a call center. Started at $10.50/hr.. That was a little over 2 years ago. I still work there, making $18.50/hr plus commission and overtime. Not saying every call center will be like that but it's great experience and there's always room to move up.

You guys are awesome, thanks for the advice.
![]() The worry-wart in me, it doesn't go awaayyy. I filled out paperwork with HR, I even took a picture for my badge that I'll get at orientation. That's a good sign that I got it, right? Haha I'm just so nervous,it's my first job, don't want anything to screw up. |

Thought it was rude to ask a lady her age, jkjk
Old enough to be legally drinking right now. And happily,I am. I've had "jobs" before, ie, volunteering a fuckton, and working and managing estate sales (death in the family). This is just the first time I've dealt with the private sector. I'm new to all the paperwork and the process, that's all. |

Funny how things go.
I use to be quite frequent on a guitar forum as i was younger, found out today that one of the handful of members of which i knew from that forum has recently passed away at age 48. If it wasn't for that internet forum, i wouldn't be in the major i am right now for school. I started working on guitars, set ups, complete restorations, building effect pedals ...which then lend to go for engineering...which then lend to me working on cars and becoming such a gear head. It's all circle, these stupid forums like these play a bigger part than we know.

![]() Hey,it'd be something. Plus, already had a taste of being screamed at constantly. Did estate sales in the summer of last year, got some interesting stories from that.

Need some advice on school. I'm currently attending community college (about to complete my 2nd year after May), trying to pursue either a computer engineering or a computer science degree. However, now I'm having thoughts about going into Business Administration - Emphasis in Information Systems. Which major do you guys think would be the best in the upcoming future, along with demand. Business Admin. has less requirements to transfer to San Diego State University, where as Computer Engineering has more requirements (need to complete as much as possible in order to get that major). My plan was to transfer to a University within three years, but now it appears it might take me 4 years to get out of community college (dropped a few classes this semester due to personal reasons). Do guys think four years is too long to spend at community college?!? I'm a bit worried right now about my future.
What exactly can I do with a Business Administration (Emphasis in Information Systems) degree? Should I try rushing out of community college or simply do two more years ? The day I transfer, my parents are going to help me get either a frs or a brz. Currently leaning towards the brz right now. Words can not describe how badly I want to own one of the twins!!! Therefor I do not want to choose a major that's going to leave me saying "I should've done something else in college". And advice is greatly appreaciated! |
