Keep making the car payment into your savings. When it is time for your next car you will have a large down payment or be able to pay cash.

Exactly! Break the cycle of car payments.

I'm actually thinking more about using that money on investments than another car at the moment. Just waiting for that Rivian IPO.

Nah. I'm not a fan of the design of the '22.

It's going to be hard for me to want to have another car note unless it's super cheap. I'm talking in the $200 range, and if I can pay it off rather quickly. My loan was for six years. I don't regret it at all because even though my APR was pretty high,I was able to afford it without a problem, and I wanted/needed a new(ish) car that was reliable. Also,it's been cheaper owning this car than the revolving door of used cars that were in the shop at least twice a year.

The thing about used cars, you never know what to expect. At least with new cars you can expect no unnecessary mechanical failures (you'd think).

I just had mine fail the State Inspection for no muffler. I bought it from the dealer this way last year... and they inspected and passed it! which also means they did so illegally.

I have 2 weeks to get it fixed for re-registering here in TX. I want the car to remain with the same sound - it basically has straight pipes to the engine, but it does have cats. I want to know how the previous owner kept it registered the last 8 years, and how the dealer registered it for me when I bought it last year.

I dont really know what I can do about it.

They did some shady shit is what happened bro. You can't keep the sound with an added muffler. But that doesn't mean it will sound bad. Gonna have to install one though. Look for one locally I guess. You can always take it back off after inspection

Yeah i guess... but i dont even know where/how to begin. Im not mechanically inclined like most here lmao. Its straight piped to the engine? What would I need in-between for it to work right?

The dealer said hed get it looked at, but its a 3hr trip for me. Id want to make sure he pulls all the paperwork before i even get there so he can put one on, or at the very least just pass me again lol

Anyone know someone in Austin, TX that could help? Open to suggestions...

If you were down here in Central Florida I would lend you my stock exhaust. It's hanging on my garage wall. Maybe someone in Texas is in the same situation. It's a really easy job to change out. Could do it easily in a hour with ramps.

Its the thought that counts, thank you!!

I think if they put one on, Ill definitely keep it around after inspection for the yearly removal haha. I cant imagine the previous owner doing this every damn year... id love to see how easy it is if anyone has a good video to share.

yeah
but the thing is...
If you were in Florida you wouldn't have to worry about it. We quit doing those stupid inspections decades ago. Here anything goes.
