I will be signing up for HPDE 1 for April 5-6.

It is my first HPDE event.

Hope to see some of you guys out there. I will probably be by myself so if you see me say whats up.

Is there a group that rolls to the event together? Would be cool to roll in all together.

I'd be in for one.

Just picked up my car from the dealer...took her in for free maintenance.

Awesome that the service tech changed all my service numbers to match my car number lol!

I'd buy one if I didn't already have a "laser cut" sun blocking one from a local Toyota dealership.

Arizona crew, I don't want to turn this is to an engine oil debate, but I would like to get some input on what oil you guys use (or intend to use) during summer. 5W-30 a good choice for our cars? I'm all stock for now btw.

Cheers.

Typically I have been running Penz synth. But I've been curious about trying Royal purple since this is a new car and it was heavily recommended by Nasioc when I gave a shit what they thought.

(Had more than a few bad experiences with their attitude)

Ive run Royal Purple in mine for 18k miles now, the lightest stuff they make(0w20-30?) Its pretty slippery..lol Its legit, if Im honest, the shear level on it is just a bit lower than Id like on an engine with this much compression, BUT I went 12k on the 1st "Royal" change,(see what I did there?) pulling samples 2x,& I didnt have ANY breakdown at all, plus the "detergent" was still active. And for me, 12k is a year of driving. I run their 5w40 in my built diesel truck and its been an answer to prayer! Having hydraulic injectors means that your oil must be PRISTINE and VERY VERY slippery.. Someone posted up a link here a few months back with testing oil filters and if I remember correctly, Royal Purples filter scored the top spot.. Theyre doing some things right over there.. Anyway, if you wanted a write-up on RP oil...

This happened today. Maaco quoted me for $590 repair or $890 replace.

Any recommendations?

The only down side to the "sell both" is a $1400 tab to make back $5-700. That really sucks. How deep is the damage? I'd have been so pissed.

So, I stumbled across this in my reading and wanted to see what you guys though of it. I'm not doing it, just interested in the topic. "The FA20 has been replaced by a Subaru EZ30 3.0-liter boxer motor out of the Legacy 3.0R – the same car I’ve been running as a daily driver for years now. The flat-six engine is a nice snug fit, and on top of providing 250hp"
