Gentleman, I have the 2013 FR-S and it is a street car 100% of the time, and probably will for a long time. Anyways, I drove it for a while without the spare tire and saved weight. However, when I am driving in the canyons, where I might not get phone reception or whatever, as they are isolated sometimes from cell towers, I wanted to be safe...And get out of a jam if I get a flat tire. Anyways I was thinking to save weight By adding A LIGHTER SPARE RIM AND TIRE...? Is there any ideas for this as I am not that experienced with this issue. I thought there might be some room for some creativity perhaps. I know we go through a lot to save 5-10 or 15lbs lbs. I thought there might be some room for weight loss. I though the spare was made of steel. If we were able to find a lightweight cast or forged spare wheel we could save here... Anyways, I just thought it was worth mentioning, as some of us may not need it, it is just nice to know it is there. I thought we might be able to lose some weight here. If I am going on a long road trip I may keep the stock spare on, but if I am local where there are many tire repair shops I can substitute for the lightier perhaps not as convenient or reliable lighter spare. Anyways thanks for your suggestions.

You could buy one single 16" TWS T66-F and mount the lightest tire you can find on it. I don't know how much lighter that would be than a spare, if at all.

How much do sparco seat rails weigh?? I've tried googling and researching; but no official weights...just people saying and assuming they are 8-13lbs each (but they never really weighed them on a scale). Would like to see a real number.

Just asking because Evo and Fighter weigh 13-16lbs each. If the rails don't weight much, that's a good 40lbs weight savings for a pair...but if the rails are heavy and weight 15lbs each, then the weight savings wouldn't be all that great (only 10lbs each or 20lbs for a pair).

Also...any other options for seat rails for Sparco or other seats? Maybe lightweight ones?

I don't know if the Eve is that light... Sliding rails are pretty heavy, likely around 10lbs. Fixed mounts are much lighter.

Haven't seen it either but it's aluminum and any potential weight saving would be minuscule. I can imagine some wet carbon crap people sell weighing more than the factory hood. Would be nice to know though.

Has anyone weighed the full stock steering wheel with airbag?

I replaced my stock wheel&airbag on my EG back in the day and remembered it was a bit heavy...at least 10-15lbs.

That sux...then the Evo/Fighter with the sliding rails is probably at least 25lbs then, which would only be 10-15lbs weight saving per seat

Yes. It weighs 6.24lbs with the cruise control lever.
