The logic would be they didn't tell you the warranty was not valid for the car and so defrauded you.

I'm pretty sure I am experiencing this now, pretty sure i have a spun bearing but no CEL, Toyota dealership told me it is (in their opinion) a rod or bearing knock. I asked if they were going to be pro-active about the issue before I get stranded somewhere with a completely blown engine and was told that unless there is a CEL they won't touch the engine without me paying for everything....

First, the CEL is not designed to pick up internal mechanical issue with an engine. The CEL is mainly for problems that effect the emissions of a car.


Second, let me get this right...Toyota confirms that they think you have rod knock, you have a warrantee, and they refuse to fix the issue???


Get it in writing and send it to Toyota Corp Headquarters! Ridiculous!!

I agree. I would take it right back to the very same person and when they give you that answer, just refuse to leave the premises until they either agree to write up the service or put it in writing that they refuse to.

Guess which one they will do?

And for the record, I bought my BRZ CPO from the Subaru dealer WITH the extended SUBARU warranty (not some other company).
First thing I asked for was the complete service record.
