In all fairness to everyone that owns and enjoys driving their twin. I realize that the geographical center of the U.S. (Lebanon, KS) isn't exactly a hot spot. But I have to admit that after a good night of partying, I really don't want to go on a high performance drive, anywhere. The closest track to the geo-center would be the fairest to all owners, considering the location and current economy. If it's held in NY, I'll pass on a two day event. If it's held in GA, I'll take two weeks and visit some friends for a week at the same time. If this is truly an event for all, it's in the middle of everything.

I sincerely hope you are joking.

Orlando area. The kids and significant other would have plenty to do at the theme parks if they don't want to go to the event. You can be a hero to your family and still have a good time yourself.

Orlando would be good! Not far from the disney area is an autox and small drift setup that started a few years ago. Site is here: http://cfracingcomplex.com/general-information/

Some other ideas.

Savannah, GA
They have a retired racetrack owned by the Westin Hotel that is available for rent for events like this. Including use of the track. Also attached to the hotel is a convention center with a massive parking lot for the main lot area. From there you can take a free ferry to the middle of downtown savannah for the night festivities. Found here: http://www.westinsavannah.com/track . Of course i'm a little bias because i live here. But it is a fun city, which is why the exotic car clubs like ferrari do their meets here. Also Roebling road is another road course nearby.

If it's in the summer i would suggest somewhere relatively close to the ocean.

Birmingham, AL
Pretty close to the Barber Motorsports park which looks amazing.

Just a few ideas!

I really really dig the savannah idea. That's a city I've wanted to visit since the ex-wife went on a girls trip to Tybee island..

That old track is way too novice unfriendly, if they run it even. I know they do autocrosses in the paddock though.

RRR would be a better track choice for the Savannah area. Worst track in the SE, but still...

Personally anywhere in GA/FL in the time frame that's being proposed is way too damn hot lol

I will definately agree with you about it not being novice friendly. I would be terrified to drive it lol. But if they think that a road course isnt a good idea, at least doing an autocross type event would be cool. Which is doable at that location.

I cant say to much about the heat, I will agree its hot but im pretty used to it now lol,

Thanks

Once a location is determined I can find track contacts at that time. SCCA is fine for autocross but I wouldn't suggest their HPDE program over something like Chin, etc. Problem is Chin fills up *fast* usually so people who want to do the track portion will have to be quick.

Eventually we should allow regions to submit proposals detailing their plans for the event, local track event, etc and run the events as a LLC, similar to what NSXCA does with NSXPO but that's not for this year's discussion
