According to the Scion staff i spoke with, the convertible seen in long beach was a one off designed and created by a third party auto body expert to do parade laps in the opening ceremonies if the grand prix next week. Additionally they have no plans to specifically make an frs convertible this time.

Car looks beautifull as it is... why mess with a good thing? (Visually speaking) But to each their own. Saw the pics from the event, just not my cup of tea.

Jack Hollis directly said there is no convertible. The roadster is just a badass expensive custom job

Toyota said they are working on convertible.... But if they really are, I doubt it'll be available until at least two years....

It looks really nice. I don't like convertibles, but I lke targas, because you can have open top without any added weight, that is why I love the Supra Targa, the F355 GTS and the Carrera GT.
What are those rims? They look really good and seem to have CL and are 16". They could be the lightest ones you can get.

if the car does well for a few years, would be awesome to see different variations... cuz I'm really digging the hatch...

NO NO no hatch! Save that for the next 3 door WRX and STI! Keep the AS1 pure as a coupe and maybe a roadster!

Most convertibles I see all I think is it's okay but it would be better with a hard top. This is no different. A targa might be something I would be interested in.
