Bump, I'd really like to get my Com-C's to play nice with the RCE yellows and OEM struts. I'm not convinced that they are shipping with bad bearings, instead I think the welded flat washer on the oem upper spring perch, combined with the angle due to the negative camber is what's causing them to bind up, rubber to deform, and the bearings to go bad. I think the flat washer isnt contacting the inner bearing correctly, again to the camber angle. There needs to be a conical washer.

The WL tops were tested on our car and have been working perfectly on many cars. No noise, no issues. The fact of the matter is, and I'm sure you'll agree, the quality control on both the bearings and the rubber of the whiteline com c mounts is very disappointing. I think the bearings you received were bad, and I think the rubber in your tops was deforming too much too. Frankly if I were you I would not feel comfortable running the WL tops anymore and we're a little disappointed ourselves. At this point I would recommend group n tops with the AVO control arm bushing, which is what we are running now. If you want to try the conical washer on the OEM perch with the com c tops, its worth a shot but if you want to get rid of them we would like to help. - Andrew |

btw i did get my refund for the strut tops after a few weeks of waiting. rce refunded me the cost of the strut top and whiteline sent me a "we're sorry" package of cross mount bushings and a shifter bushing (cant use it since i have an auto)
frustratingly whiteline wont compensate me for the labor cost to remove those defective strut tops |

Group-N parts solve so many issues.
I have a sneaking suspicion that the rear rotors on the BRZ/FRS are 5x100 Group-N rotors. BTW, my Com-Cs are working just fine. I'll keep an eye on them for any separation. |

We carry the group n mounts too (and may rearrange the starter kit to include those in the future).

I see a transaction in our near future!
the two sets of avo front LCA bushes unless whitelines come out soon the rear camber bush the group N tops I really dig the RCE yellow coils, and am tempted to try them with a set of konis, as it would be far cheaper and possibly track worthy otherwise, I'll be adding to this a set of kw3's unless you have a pss9/10 or other trackable offering or a stg2 susp kit; tho I do not want to underestimate the koni stuff- I run dinan's eibach and adjustable koni setup on my m3, and its stellar-right near entry coilover level territory with the correct sway bars. amazing what he's done with the custom tuned coils and matched konis |

Thanks to all who have posted on this thread.
I was considering running the COM-Cs but now I'm not sure if I want to take the risk to deal with all of the issues people have had with them.

OK so I installed the Yellows and just had the Whiteline rear bushings and oem camber bolts installed, and had an alignment at a reputable shop. I have 18x8.5 +44 wheels. The rears are now pretty much perfect to RCE's recommendation of -1.5 camber. (It seemed like they could have even done less...after the bushings were installed but before the alignment it was at -1.3 on both sides.)
Here's the issue: In front they set it to just -0.1 on the left and -0.2 on the right. I think RCE recommends -1.2 degrees with my Lite kit. I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to alignment settings, but this seems like very little negative camber and pretty far off RCE's recommendation. The shop said that it looked like there would be strut clearance issues if I went with more negative camber. They recommended going with a spacer up front, but I'd rather avoid that. Any thoughts? Are the current settings OK? What can I do to fix this, and still keep my wheels and the yellows? Thanks! |

No need to get any less than -1.5 camber in the rear...with stickier tires you might want to go a little more actually. Try to get at least -1.5.
-0.1 up front is disappointing though. I'm forwarding to Myles.... - Andrew |

I had 18x8.5 +44 and they were very close to the strut at stock height so i can imagine it may hit the strut with a lot of camber but you should still be able to get -.75 or so.
