Yes. The FT-86 would replace my daily driver.

The last release series of the previous gen tC had TRD springs, wheels, and swaybars.

IIRC RS cost same, cuz dealer cannot mark it up. That's why RS series sales pretty quickly

Wow, I'm off for a day and you guys go bats crazy without me
. And what is up with that Smart roadster? Good gas mileage is just an added bonus to a lightweight, small engined sports car .PS The age demographic for Toyota is best described as dirt old. Scion is middle-aged . Young people generally don't have much money. Especially pimple faced teenagers .

About the rebading, thats totally ricer.
In the g35 community there is alot of people who rebadge to nissan skyline 350gts. It is seen as VERY ricer. All the decals on the inside will still be wrong, and above all the steering wheel is still on the wrong side. Anyone who knows what is what will just have a laugh. only thing worse then a rebadge is mixed emblems. For instance a USDM infiniti badge with JDM skyline letters. |

I'm checking out the Canadian Scion site right now... TRD drop in air filter (not intake system) $102 AEM Cold Air for 05-07 tC (full proper cold air system) $323 TRD exhaust system (no details on sizing/power gains, looks like axle back) $741 Tanabe Concept G (cat-back 60mm full 304 stainless for 05-07 tC) $541 TRD lowering springs (1.2" drop, no rate info) $998 Tanabe lowering springs (Sustec DF210 1.7/2.2 drop with increased rate for 05-07 tC) $286 TRD 19" lightweight Wheels (19x8, +35, saves 1.18kg/wheel vs 18" factory) $1921 (assuming tires come too). Tenzo R DC-5 wheels 19"x8.5", +17 or +45 weight unknown $321 each $1284 Fuzion ZRi Tires 253/35ZR19 $204 each $816 total TRD total: $3762 installed (it's included when you buy from the dealer right?) So the $2300 Release Series looks like a good deal. Mid grade (TRD equivalent) aftermarket parts: $3250 Now put in some elbow grease, or buy a buddy a LOT of beer, and you still come out ahead money-wise, AND you have an extra set of stock 18" wheels and tires. So this makes the Release Series a good financial deal. But sell the stock wheels and rubber and it would be very close, and the AEM/Tanabe combo will make more power than the TRD dress-up filter and exhaust. But dealer vs aftermarket there's no contest. (Prices are in Canadian dollars.)

If you are really serious about performance, Aftermarket always beats out Factory options. This what I couldn't understand about people up and arms about factory options or lack there of aside from the warranty appeal. You are going to get options, just don't expect them to be cheap and perform better than Aftermarket counter parts.
