To me, the interior materials felt and looked 'cheap'. Also, the lines of the vehicle on the outside do not look as great in person as they do in pictures. Another thing was the the doors felt very light to me, I know that is by design to keep the car light, but it felt strange since I'm coming from a Mustang.

Yeah, I told Andrei (Sewel rep) I didn't like the dashboard. You should see the Limited. It has better center console, better materials for the seat (Alcantra vs. coarse woven fabric, leather vs. synthetic suade).

I was not impressed with the DGM Premium 6AT. Being DGM, Premium, & 6AT was worse than I expected.

DGM was way too metallic and the metal particles were too coarse. DGM conceals the black trims in this car, negating the contrast that would have been noticeable in lighter colored trims. I would have same criticism if it were a black car as well.

Premium had a terrible center console. The 6AT shifter looks like a makeshift shifter, a by-product of materials originally intended for a manual transmission car.

-----

But I'm still pumped up with my pre-ordered WRBP Limited 6MT BRZ at another dealearship (not Sewel).

To get back on topic, here is a VIN for a Limited 6MT BRZ taken from the floor model of another dealer in DFW where I pre-ordered my BRZ. Use it for insurance quotes as needed. The VIN earlier shared by send2michael is for a Premium 6AT.

WOW I can't believe other people feel the same way as I do. The car in person is very unimpressive on the exterior and interior. It seemed even smaller than it is in the pics.

I'm not saying my 2011 Civic Si is a great car, but it's much nicer on the exterior and interior and handles turns very well. My friends used to think I was a crazy driver and now they think I'm a crazy good driver. It's not me it's the car.

I am going to take another look at the brz tomorrow. This one is blue 6mt. The first one I saw was satin white. Terrible color.

I'm leaning toward a 1-2 yr old 370z now. I'm looking for other options too. I do want a car on the smaller side.

In fairness to BRZ, my current DD and reference for comparison is a 335i. The BRZ is quite good for it price point. But I wish they designed the dashboard better. The door panels are great, but the dashboard is ugly with the silver accent and dull materials. Kinda out of place from the rest of the car's interior. I'm referring to Limited interior. (Though I could easily fix the "silver accent" w/ original toyobaru replacement parts, so I'm not too worried about it).

Back to topic, the BRZ is not too expensive to insure in my case. I'm only paying additional $258.50 for 6 months, adding the BRZ to my garage.

Do you happen to know how long it's over there? No one called me about this...

I learned about it in another forum from a guy who apparently has Sewel's pre-order priority #1. He said the car will be there from Saturday April 28 to May 5.

It turns out Huffines sales reps are much better than Sewel's. Mike (from Huffines) called me when WRBP Limited 6AT came, and it was there only for one day (April 14).

All right, thanks for the info! I'll have to check it out; never seen a Premium before.

FYI, the VINs won't help anyone get insurance quote unless the BRZ is already in their database, otherwise it's useless and would just be quoted manually (using the engine size, bodystyle, etc.). They will really only come into play if it's a car with a wide variety of models... for example, if you wanted a quote for an S2000, there's only one main model, so you don't need to narrow it down, but if you wanted a quote for an F150, the VIN would help since there are more than 30 different configurations.

Can anyone confirm any insurance carriers that actually have the BRZ in their system? Geico didn't a couple days ago

Unless it's changed in the past several days, Safeco, Progressive, Foremost, Kemper/Unitrin and Dairyland do NOT have the BRZ's rates yet. Foremost (owned by Farmers) does have the rates for the FR-S though.

I'm with Wawanesa (Canada), and when I called my insurance broker for a quote on the twins, I could not get a Wawanesa quote Friday, but she did tell me that another (unspecified) company had them both in their system, with the BRZ $400/yr less than the FR-S. This was for an over-$2k a year policy on each though, and I expect my Wawanesa quotes to be lower so the difference for me might be $300/yr.

That differential is likely to increase over time in favour of the BRZ given the likely buyers for the 2 cars, so as I intend to keep this car for a long time (I don't commute) I am seriously thinking of moving over to the dark side.
