I'm going 40 in a 30 zone (I know, bad LadyFRZ) around San Diego Bay to kinda make myself feel better. I have this old hag in a minivan on my ass the entire time.
I leave that road, go to another (This is another person in a van). There's 2 lanes, and it merges down to 1 lane in about half a mile, so she definitely had time to pass me. But she didn't, she stayed right on my ass, even though the lane to my left was open. WHY?

And same here. There's a two lance road I take almost everyday and sometimes there will be that guy that feels like tailgating me for no reason. Sometimes I think I must have done something, but mostly think they're just a-holes. Do I slow down? No. Do I switch lanes? Nope. Do I speed up, even though I'm going 10 over the speed limit? Nada. I just let them sit back there and enjoy my car's ass.
Unless the tailgater is being very aggressive I'll choose to let the car slow down to normal speed limit. Hopefully instigate them enough to go speed off past me. Since I know the roads well, I know when to do so, cause I know where the cops like to stand by for speeders.

Only time I ever think of flooring the car is times like that too. But I would have flipped him off too.

Approve all the way! You didn't go overboard with it. Looked like just a gentle skid. But it was enough to show/vent your frustration with the moron in the crosswalk. And also something you could possibly chalk up to the road conditions if you got pulled over for it.(Maybe...)
