What type of manufacturing?

You can look for a local 'job shop' for machined/fabricated stuff, but depending on how big/precise/complicated your stuff is you would really need to verify that they have the capabilities to do it to your requirements as well as the capacity to fulfill your order in a timely manner.

There are also industry-specific 'private label' manufacturers that specialize in making certain types of products that you can just bring a rough idea to, and they will design, engineer and manufacture to your requirements.

Just make sure you pay attention to their confidentiality and intellectual property policies.

Given Nameless' timelines, that probably is a production header. Next week. Next month. Next year...

Device, as in an assembly? Multiple parts? Different materials?

What size, strength requirements, precision, detail level etc...

These affect your material and methods choices.

Something small, detailed, but not needing to be strong could be injection molded in plastic or die cast in zinc. Temperature requirements would decide between metal or plastic.

How long to machine, how much money does a die setup cost?

If it needs to be stronger, CNC or cast aluminum. Will it be exposed to elements? Anodized aluminum, or cast stainless steel. How nasty is the environment? Better stainless grade or titanium. Etc, etc...

The ending requirements change who you need to find to make it.

Almond milk is actually made from Almonds. I thought it was just milk with almond oil for flavoring. Mind Blown!

Which industry? That's the private label issue.

I can get watches made in Switzerland to my design, because there is a shit ton of watchmaking in Switzerland. Canada not so much.

You are probably better off in Ontario, but if it's a complete assembly you may have to find specialist suppliers of each component and put it together yourself.

For example, our company needed a 'not available' stroke length and piston bore diameter air cylinder. We talked to our supplier, SMC and they just made it for us. There is a degree of modifications and changes available for off the shelf parts, and it's easier when you are talking ~1000 unit runs.

Most companies will also supply CAD files of their stuff so you can play with it virtually to see if you can make it work with your design.

Pick up or download an industrial supply catalogue www.ReidSupply.com (I have their hard copy), then look for the stuff that is closest to what you need and contact the manufacturers directly to see what they can do for you.

try looking up 3d printing services online if you're only looking for prototyping, also works for production runs. that is if they can meet your specs
