Someone help me decide!
255/35/18 Federal 595 vs 265/35/18 Achilles ATR Sport. Will be going on 18x9.5. Not too familiar with either, but both fit my budget and are in stock. I've read a couple reviews of both, and it seems that Federal has a longer lasting reputation. Ive seen people mount 245/40, but they seem a bit tall. Suggestions? |

On stock springs, how do you plan on getting that much camber? Crash bolts will only get you not quite -1.0. Btw, the twins don't need a ton of camber (for optimum handling). |

Stick with 35 series tire for anything 245 or wider (245-265)
255/35R18 is a great size for 9.5" rim. Never heard of Achilles. Quote:

17x9 +35
245/40/17 or 255/40/17 I am looking at. Lowered on KW V3's. Looking for a track setup. |

Perfect size track wheel and offset.
Tire size will be fine with either. 245's are probably what most guys run for track, but 255's are the ideal tire for that rim width. When I run track wheels, I'll likely run the 255 size. You won't rub with 255 especially since you're on coil-overs (you'd be be fine on coils too as long as there's no excessive camber. Currently on 18's with 245s but enough room for 255 tires. |

Im going to be ordering some ssr sp1s within the next month or so and I'll be running 18x9.5 squared. I'll have my ST coilovers by that time and plan on doing a 1.25"-1.5" drop. 1st question is what is the ideal offset to go with for more of a flush look. Second will I need front camber plates and rear LCAs? Oh also I'm planning on running 245/35r/18 Michelin PSS because I've read the tires won't be stretched very much at all! Thank you in advanced!

No issues with fitting this combo since you have coilovers. I think the right offset is about +40 for a flush look. You could probably go between +35 to +45 since you have coilovers.
Here a few threads for you to check out and decide on the right offset: (wheel directory thread) http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7535 And also here: (aggressive wheels thread) http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25171 but be warned that some setups are pretty crazy (-10 camber) with the hella-flush and standed crowd. You shouldn't "need" LCA's or tophats, you'll get around -1.8F/-2.0R camber just with the lowering. You can get a bit more (.5) with front crash bolts ($7 each x 2). 245's will be stretched more than you think, ideal size for a 9.5" wheel is a 265 or 275 wide tire. My 245's are already stretched a bit on my 18x9" wheels. Depends what you want for looks also. Michelin recommends a 8.5" wheel size for their 245/35R18 Super Sports. Quote:

I'd like to get Gram Lights 57DR 18x8.5 +38 (Square) and I'd probably run a Michelin PSS 265/35/18 in the back and probably 235 or 245/35/8 in the front, will there be any rubbing on stock suspension, and will there be a lot of poke? The streets are too shitty around here to lower.. Thanks!

Shouldn't poke in the front, pretty flush with no rubbing. Here's another guy running this size and offset, although he's lowered: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48112 |
