Nice job!

You may wish to keep your jig for those - maybe ol @Tcoat would be interested, if he ever gets a decent head unit in his green car -

That is actually a weird reflection from the lighting in the garage. I'll get a better look at them tomorrow in the sun.

Once everything cures in a week I'll go over everything and touchup anything that needs it, and refinish the 4th wheel.

I would be happy if the ones that were there worked like they did in the FRS!

Posted mine up for sale yesterday (not in the cars for sale section here), and cleaned her up today.

Have you taken your car into a car radio shop and ask them to check and make sure the radio system is hooked up properly?

Thanks! Feel like it's time. If she doesn't sell, then no biggie.

Reminds me of one time back in Missouri, I had this large house with a large front door sitting on a 3+ acre lot (sort of like the one in the picture). My new wife (the present mrs humfrz) wanted it a different color.

So, being back in the day when I did things up right, I took the door off, installed a temp door, and took the metal door down into the basement where I stripped it, sanded it, primered it and sprayed on 3 coats of paint (that looked really nice under the basement lights).

When it was good and dry, I took it out of the basement and installed it. I noticed my wife and a few neighbors had gathered out on the road to admire my work. As I was walking toward them, I noticed they were all shaking their heads - noooo. I turned around and found out why.

That color was hideous in the natural light of day!

I took it down right away and when I painted it again, this time I did it near an open garage door.

THE END (of me doing things the proper way)

Went on a little LED lighting spree:
  • Switchback LEDs for the front signals (white running/parking light, amber signal)
  • Amber LEDs for rear signals
  • White LEDs for the reverse lights
  • Light smoked clear front side markers with amber LEDs

Also added a relay with tap-turn to get rid of the hyperflash and add that handy function. Signal housings look just a little nicer now without the amber bulb reflection inside them, and having a bright white pair of running lights up front makes me feel a little more visible on the road. Everything's working great, and I've got an OEM-style fog light kit on deck for my next project.

Nice. Got any pics of your LEDs? I replaced every bulb in my FR-S with LEDs (minus the headlights since they are HIDs from the factory, and I don't want to cut and redo the wiring to run LEDs).

I installed the Tap-Turn in both my cars. The Wig-Wag feature cracks me up for some reason:

Radio shops are all closed for at least two more weeks. It is all hooked up as per the tech instructions posted here. It is just how they cobbled it all together to get it to work with the old speaker set up.

It is like somebody ran out into the plant in the middle of production and said "HOLD UP. I got this great deal on head units now we have to make them work. Oh just bypass the whole amp for the woofers? DO IT"

The door handles would give a little before pulling to close them, I tightened the two screws under the handle and the screw at the door latch - adds to that solid feel.

Had some extra time after that, so I took another look at my EQ settings on my Kenwood head unit. Someone had done a frequency response sweep on our cars previousl and I was comparing them to my current EQ setting was based on trial and error based on my preferences. Turns out that I fixed the low and low-midrange almost rather accurately, can't say the same for the mid-highs and highs, though...

Time alignment came next, which I got out the measuring tape to measure the distances between the speakers. After all was done, imaging is slightly better and I noticed less fatigue when running all of those tests, guess fixing the EQ really did the trick.

But now I'm wondering if this is the best I'm going to get, or there is more room for improvement...
