I'm with you. Replaced last Thursday and they are back today.

Quieter

I've had chirps since about 300 miles (have around 800 miles now). A week or two ago, they were loud enough to hear inside the car. This week, they have mellowed. At a drive thru today, they sang loudly while parked at the speaker (just under 1,000 rpm), but at the window they were much softer and even stopped a few times (around 600 rpm). High temp. today was 97F.

I'm only interested in having the pump replaced if Toyota actually finds a "problem" and produces one that is silent and remains silent. Otherwise, I'm kind of getting used to the birdsong. It's a quirk, but I still love this car.

You are only paying 25cents more a gallon in the most basic monetary sense.

In reality you are paying less considering your fuel mileage is going to go up around 10-20%.

I gained about 4MPG when I started using 92oct E0 about 5,000 miles ago and my avg is still climbing.

Also keep in mind you are getting better throttle response out of the E0 since ethanol enriched gas does not produce as much energy as pure gas does.

25 cents per liter Not gallon. It does add up when it comes down to it. We are paying about $6.16 per gallon.

Ah okay I see, my bad.

That being said, my original point still rings true.

You might be paying 25 cents more per liter, but you are getting more value than that in MPL and the reduced wear and tear on the engine. Not to mention that you are going to get better performance and resolve the chirp issue as well.

Honestly Ethanol is not great for your car.

Who would have know that a chemical (Ethanol) that leaves H20 as a byproduct when processed would be bad for your engine?

Ethanol is also corrosive to the fuel system. It may not rot it overnight like corrosive ammo, but it will weaken the fuel system in the long run.

I just got back from the dealership today after having my car serviced for a transmission issue.. everything seems to be working great. I get to work... "What's that noise?" I got them crickets everybody is talking about... lame. I've been using Torco Octane Booster hoping to avoid it, but I guess that wasn't going to stop it... just delayed the inevitable.

I still have mine, after the upcoming event, I'm gonna go get it taken care of. Even with the exhaust, it's noticeable enough to get annoying after a while

So its better to use 93 octane gas with no ethanol so we have high chance of no chirp?
