Sorry @Tcoat I don't check the forum often on the weekend.
Small turnout but good meet. Some new faces were out.

nice I'm in the air with what ill do, I had a 14' BRZ and traded to a 15' WRX STi. I love the STi but it isn't the same enjoyment i had in my BRZ so I'm looking at trading back to a BRZ to get a good deal both on trade in value they've quoted me 38,000 i owe 24,000 for my car and the new 17' White Sport Tech BRZ is 32,000 and i don't pay taxes so it would be a relief in terms of long term payment and maintenance costs the STi is expensive. I'll keep the post notified if i pull the trigger this weekend I'm eager for a meet up to talk about what people are doing w their frs/brz/gt86's

@subaruMike Was it just the fun factor and maintenance costs that made you consider switching back? I was thinking of moving to a WRX and any insight you have would be appreciated.

for me first and foremost is the speed and handling of the STi is unparalleled to any car I've ever driven thus when i do drive its very hard for me to drive in a respectful manor the speed limit in my entire city is 30mph or 50kmph. The car was meant in my opinion to be used at the track and in areas with higher speed limits and unplowed roads. And when your in the BRZ 30mph feels like 50mph imo. where as the STi ill be going double the speed limit and it looks feels like I'm going slowly.
Their isn't anything bad I can say about the STi other than opinions. Like I dislike the overall look, I'm not keen on the outrageous maintenance fees even if I do all the work myself. I drive in a rather continuously dusty area due to construction, and drive my car hard like a race car. I need to feel more relaxed and at ease and not on the tip of a knife blade so impulsive which is exactly how the STi makes me feel very impulsive. side note i never gave any credence to people saying the ride quality was harsh and i thought it was just a bonus to have stiff body and suspension however take my word for it, the car crushes your spine if your in it for more than a hour it seriously begins to hurts to continue to drive never felt that in any other car and I've tried every seating position possible. |

also the reason I'm thinking of trading now is that if i do Ill get a great trade-in value for my car its in near perfect condition i was quoted 38,000 and i owe 24,000 that as large check ill get back towards a BRZ which ill pay no taxes on because native status and total for new 2017 brz would be 32,000msrp-14,000=18,000$ so just in the switch i would save 6,000 in vehicle commitment costs i think thats a positive, i also get to avoid upcoming maintenance costs for the STi which i was quoted 3500$ for parts like brembo rotors, brembo pads, and other not so expensive items like oil and filter etc. The BRZ is super cheap to maintain compared to the STi in every aspect. Furthermore, i want to stop financing a car and pay the upfront amount of 18,000 for the BRZ and buy a house next year. Im trying to eliminate all recurring payments possible to give myself the best opportunity to focus on my goal of owning a home.
