What aftermerket bar were you using with the stock endlinks?

Haven't had any clunks in a while, but when it does, it has been resolved by checking and tightening whichever nuts on the endlinks that backed off. What caused them to back off? Not so sure, but it usually starts with a solid one-side-only pothole strike.

That is though with the whiteline 20 and their endlinks, so YMMV.

Im truly hoping that it's retuned.

The NC 2.0 was a retuned version of the Mazda 3 2.0, it made ~25hp more than the 3 did.

Someone in a comments section was told by an enginner on the team (supposedly) that it requires premium. The 155hp 2.0, as it sits now, does not need or take advantage of premium. I bet we'll see a more aggressive tune of that engine, if only for another 10-15hp.

$100 says no torque dip and 60+ MPH in second gear.

a 2200 lb car in 2016 that's good on gas and makes 131hp out of a 1.5 liter while adhering to modern emission controls?

people are seriously not giving mazda credit for all of their recent design advances.

haters gonna hate

too bad they had to rip on BMW Z4 for styling. ohh well.

Jalopnik quoted those specs from the 2.0L.

I don't blame you though, writer did a shitty job by mentioning "1.5L" and "155HP" in the same paragraph. Most of the junk on Jalopnik (and anything else owned by Gawker Media) wouldn't pass a first year class at any decent journalism program.

1.5 makes like 131?

2.0 is the 155.

1st gen (NA) was split between 1.6 until '93, 1.8 from '94-'97. No '98 model year. The 1.6 made somewhere in the 120 range and the 1.8 made in the mid 130 range.

2nd gen (NB) 1.8 made just about 140 at the crank. For a long time the '99 Sport was the must-have car in CS.

Fuel economy is on point, and I'm sure the miata is a blast to drive. Personally I think the styling is very good too.

The 1.6 in the 1st gen made 115?

Unless it's running high compression like the Twins.

I have a clunk in my car, but it isn't suspension.

The TPMS in my right front wheel separated from the valve stem, so at low speeds, it falls on the wheel and makes a rather raucous clunk.

Funny thing is, it is still working after at least 1,000 miles since I've noticed it.

Its worth jacking each corner up and turning the tire by hand to see if you can hear it rolling around inside the tire.

The Skyactiv 2.0 in the current Mazda3 has a 13:1 compression in the US and runs on 87 octane. Assuming the engine in the ND will require at least 91 octane, the power has to be above 155hp.

I think so far the press has only had the chance to drive the Japan market base model 1.5 motor though - they haven't released numbers on the 2.0 that the US and Europe gets, so even though it's doubtful to make 200hp, I'd wager that it will make enough to beat the twins in power:weight. It only needs like, 155hp to tie.

According to Autoblog's first drive, it will be 155hp.
