I spent about 7-8 hours on the install including the addition of a Koyo radiator, silicon hoses, and water pump and alternator pulleys.

@SuperDave thanks for the install review, looking forward to hearing more. I'd love to see an independent dyno plot when you get it tuned.

I believe drift office will have results soon. They have an Edlebrock display/reveal party planned for October 17th.

A couple of questions (this is the FAQ thread anyway right?)

-Did you have the NA JR oil cooler? Did you have to extend the lines?
-Any plans for making more of those brackets for those who already have the JRSC?
-Really like the remote bleeder (I've also thought about that after reading the installation instructions). Any more info about that?
-Did you notice any similar "tip-in knock/hesitation" similar to what @NotSoJDM was noticing?
-Manual or Auto? How's your fuel economy so far?

Thanks, very nice updates!
Hey BigFatFlip,

-Did you have the NA JR oil cooler? Did you have to extend the lines?
Yes, it's the NA version. I did not have to extend the lines.

-Any plans for making more of those brackets for those who already have the JRSC?
Sorry, no plans to make more of these. I think I put a bit more design work and fabrication into it than I needed to, but it was worth it I guess since it was for me. I think if I were to sell these in such low quantity, they would be rather expensive relative to their perceived value.

-Really like the remote bleeder (I've also thought about that after reading the installation instructions). Any more info about that?
You have to drill and tap the original bleeder hole to a 1/8" npt. I used the following for the rest:
  1. XRP #3 Flare to 1/8" npt adapter
  2. XRP Straight -3 to Straight -3 (10" length) Hose Assembly
  3. Pegasus Auto Racing 3AN Bulkhead Mount for 3/8-24 Bleeder Screw, Stainless Steel
  4. Pegasus Auto Racing 3/8-24 Speed Bleeder Screw, 1.30" overall length
  5. Mcmaster Carr 5878T32 Top and Bottom Mount Shaft Collar for 7/8" Diameter, Aluminum
  6. Custom "L" Bracket I made to attach the line to the split collar

-Did you notice any similar "tip-in knock/hesitation" similar to what @NotSoJDM was noticing?
Edelbrock is reviewing some of our data logs now.

-Manual or Auto? How's your fuel economy so far?
Manual. Too early to say on fuel economy, it's hard to drive sensibly when you have a "fun" pedal on tap. I foresee a few speeding tickets in my near future.

SuperDave,

I don't normally go to meets much. If I happen to be at an event or meet, you can definitely get a ride.

OC Bracket: That thing is beautiful and looks well thought out. I was just wondering if you were planning on making more since, even though I have the material and access to equipment to build one, I'm way too lazy and probably kludge something way uglier if I did it myself

Remote bleeder: Awesome, this is a HUGE help!

Glad to hear that Edelbrock is doing follow-up on the early adopters, makes me feel better that I can't quite get this kit yet, maybe by then, there would be updates.

I also added a remote bleeder for my clutch slave cylinder in case the new blower manifold made it difficult to bleed in the future. See pics below...

I acquired the kit last Friday (10/2) and installed it Saturday. Needed to wait till Monday to send Edelbrock my ECU info to get the Carb calibration tune. I totally agree with NotSoJDM that the install went very smoothly. All of the components and especially the blower itself was of such high quality and workmanship. I definitely felt like I got my money's worth with this kit.

It took few start cycles for the ECU to get settled, but once it did...Holy crap! This thing f'ing hauls! It's unsettling at first because you are so use to an FR-S accelerating like a snail. The power is very linear and feels like you have a larger motor. No wringing out the RPM's to get the power. The torque is already there. I've taken this through the canyon and it has little problem pulling up hill. This supercharger has definitely quickened this 3 year old car. With all that said, I do feel that the CARB tune is conservative. There is definitely more potential left on the table.

FYI, I currently have the OE header and exhaust system. I'll be getting a tune using a catless header later this month.

If you are already in the market for forced induction, I guarantee you won't be disappointed with this option.

Thanks for the review and nice pictures! Did you have any fitment problems with Koyo radiator being thicker than OEM one?

Check out his previous post about notching his bumper beam.

I installed a Koyo as well. But elected to not cut my beam. I flipped the rubber isolators in the upper mounts upside down, and it say the radiator in the correct position to fit the LTR.

p.s. there will be free beer or burritos for people who wanna give this guy a ride in their car in the San Diego, CA area after install of this supercharger!
Just finished my install this Saturday and have an E85/Flex Fuel tune scheduled in San Diego on the 22nd. I may be able to get you a ride after tuning is done if you'll be free, but no way to tell how long tuning will take.

So far I'm loving the added power and great response from the kit. Fitment on everything was great, and I can't wait to see what this kit is capable of with E85 soon.

Nooooo I leave on a work trip from the 22-27!

If you're ever down this way again and have some spare time I'd certainly appreciate it though!

Thanks,

Bret

Looking forward to your results! Which Flex Fuel kit do you have? Who's doing the tune? Based on location, I'm guessing Delicious?

Yup! Delicious Tuning is doing the tune and I'm using their Flex Fuel kit as well. I've heard a lot of great things about Bill's work and I'm anxious to see what numbers he can extract from this kit.

How 'loud' is this SC? I absolutely love the sound of a roots blower. Hoping you can hear it with this kit.
