First new car
A couple weeks ago I bought my first new car, a CBS BRZ Limited 6-speed! I also called around and found my car only having to wait about 2 weeks for it to arrive. Love it so far. As my username might suggest, I am into vintage cars. My other car and thankfully no longer my daily driver is a 1968 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe, with a 4-speed manual and 5.3 liter V8 (all stock). I've got just over 500 miles on the BRZ, and with 500 more miles left on the break in I can't wait to really see the car come alive.

Greetings to all from SoCal!
I've been awaiting the new BRZ and have been anxious to get one. Production and distrobution has has seemed somewhat slower than I anticipated. Most Dealers are taking full advantage of this fact to the point of what I consider covert price gouging. Glendale, CA Subaru quoted me $7500 over a BRZ Premium they had in stock after I wrangled it out of them on the phone. They of course wanted me to come in and surprise me right there. Needless to say they know what I think of a 36% mark up. I've encountered this from all of the local dealers, not to the unscroupulous extent of Glendale though. I'll wait and/or find a reputable dealer to order though if possible. I regularly check kbb.com for BRZ inventory and have discovered something peculiar and somewhat unsettling. The are used BRZ's for sale listed there for months now, i.e. not one or two but say ten. Check for yourself. So let's say for example that 20% of those that I see used for sale are due to people not really being able to afford them after all. Well then there's the rest of them that I really want to know why they are already up for resale. Profiteers perhaps? I'd really like to know the answer before I go and purchase one. I appreciate your thoughts. Cheers! Will Last edited by Provenbyfire; 12-02-2012 at 02:02 AM. Reason: Spelling Correction |

New member here! Picked up a WRB BRZ Premium 6MT w/1B and fog lamps/spoiler.
I have been considering a BRZ since I heard they were coming out. I was ready to order before they were taking orders...but never pulled the trigger. I was torn because I really liked the BMW 135 I had been driving. I still miss the acceleration the 135 has; I cant wait until mile 1001 on the BRZ!!! Not that I expect it to accel the same, but I want to get into the rpm range where this car should be driven.

Hi all-
Maybe I'm just lucky, but I only found out about the BRZ about a month ago online… read a few articles, decided to check it out. (I was almost ready to buy a practical Kia Optima - yikes!) My local Subaru dealer (Suburban Subaru in Vernon, CT) had 3 or 4 on the lot. I drove the Blue Pearl Limited 6MT and fell in love. I came back to drive it again with my daughter (who at age 20 had to fit in the back seat), then once in some light snow (to make sure it wouldn't spin out at the sight of a flake), before finally bringing the wife to seal the deal (at MSRP). Two days later (last Friday), with 35 miles on it (30 of them my own test drives), I drove it home. The two others were still there (one white, one black) when I picked mine up, so call Nick if you're local enough and want one… So… loving my new baby! I feel for you guys who're waiting forever for yours; maybe people here in the northeast are afraid to buy a BRZ because they're afraid of the snow… who knows? |

just moved in
Just bought my BRZ on Saturday Dec 1 in Hillsboro, Oregon.
Went in to buy a practical car, came home with the BRZ But it IS practical compared to the 05 MR2 Spyder I traded in!Someone had ordered the BRZ, it was delivered Thursday and no one bought it until I came along (unsuspectingly) 2 days later. My BRZ has all the bells and whistles I don't need like navigation, but it also has all the stuff I do "need" like manual trans, LSD, traction control, heated seats, ... Have just over 200 miles on it now and gaining rapidly with my 33-mile each-way weekday commute. Today is my first sunny day with it - I wonder what it's like to drive on dry pavement?! Going out for lunch today! Now for a little driver training so I can utilize all it's glory - maybe a trip to OR Raceway Park and The Ridge are in order. PIR, ho hum, well it's close. Here it is, with the MR2 (just before trade in)

New member here from the Tampa Bay area!
I originally ordered a WRB Premium 6MT from a local dealer back in early June. After several months of waiting and no ETA or and updates, I started looking around for cars on Autotrader and cars.com. Almost every dealer I spoke to, wanted a $2,000-$3,000 markup on the BRZ. I finally found 6 BRZs at Subaru of Jacksonville, and found out they were selling all of them for MSRP! I called them to reserve the WRB limited they had, but someone beat me to it by literally 10 minutes. Ended up reserving a SSM Limited 6MT and drove 244 miles to purchase it the next day. On November 25th, I became a proud owner of a Subaru BRZ. ![]() Even though silver was one of the last colors I wanted, I fell in love once I saw it in person. It really has a clean and classic look to it. My previous car was a 1999 Toyota Avalon XLS, so the handling of this car is night and day. I miss the Avalon since it was my first car, but I certainly look forward to years of joyous ownership ![]() ![]() ![]()
