Hey everyone, name's Mike. I'm in the market for the new Toyota, as long as they keep it rear wheel drive and keep the weight down (3200lbs really Hyundai?).
I'm a former auto-x'er and rally-x'er, mainly with FWD cars, but I've owned 2 RWD's in the past that also saw some auto-x. Currently driving a Ford Escort Zx2 2001. Don't make fun though, only weighs about 2200lbs, great engine, great for chucking into corners, it's about as quick as a RSX Type S or base WRX if you want a comparison point. Regardless I'm rambling. |

welcome Mike! a friend of mine used to have a ZX2 that he autocrossed frequently, until he traded it for a mazdaspeed 3.
he didn't really have that much done to it, but it was a quick little car through the cones. i hopped in it once for some fun runs, and it was really easy to drive. i was .2 off his fast time my first time driving the car.-Mike

Yeah, had me a bit confused as well. Although from my studying the Zx2 uses the same block as the Cos from that time, the truth to that is a completely unknown to me though.
NESW20: Yeah she is an easy car to drive, especially on a low speed auto-x, pain in the ass once the speed gets up there though. Taking sweepers at the limit around 75mph on tracks is an ass clenching experience. Never been in a car so touchy to snap over steer or just plowing the rest of a corner if you aren't right on top of weight transfer/accelerator control. Thanks for the welcomes. |

![]() Read on one of the threads for a Toyota Apex badge, that'd be legit! Still haven't purchased a brand new car, so if the FT comes out as good as it sounds then i may just wait and make it the first car i buy off a lot. Let's just hope they don't disappoint us or else lol

I guess I'm the present newbie. My wife and I enjoy an 02 Miata and an 09 Fit. I'm jazzed about the FT86 and if it comes out as it's been presented so far, I'll probably get in line to get one.

Whats up everybody. Im new to the site and as like everyone im very excited to see a sports car revival with Toyota. I currently drive a Mazda Rx8 and I love the vehicle, the only down side to the car is the tuning. I look forward to hearing news and specs on this vehicle in the near future.
