Nope. I didn't have the option of waiting. And I never buy a first year. Teething problems and all.

I'm not worried about any instability from iterative product development from the new Ford. Even their "all new" cars are pretty good.

Completely understand the not being able to wait part. And I suppose if there are ever any second thoughts in the future, some forced induction should reaffirm the original purchase.

As are almost all current cars today. But still, I'd rather play it safe. I don't have the time or patience to deal with the possibility of ending up as a glorified beta tester for a car manufacturer.

NEVARRRRRRRRRRRR!!! I'd tear the heads apart and do cams at higher expense for less power before throwing a blower on the car. NA all day. But seriously, it's a daily driver. I'll be buying an OHV weekend toy and mod the piss out of that when this is well past paid off.

Congrats on the purchase. I test drove a lot of cars before deciding on the FR-S. I think the Mustang would have been my second choice, a very close second.

if Ford didnt get cheap at the last minute in 2005 and put the IRS in as they planned to, I might have bought the 2005 GT. If they did though, the price would have been way over $30K. Now how much is a mustang GT? still a live rear axle??

Good stuff man, beautiful purchase. You optioned it out the same way I always do when I build a stang lol.

I'll probably pick one up for a daily in 2015 when the 2016 models roll out. (lol give it a year to work through their first of the next gen issues)

They just announced the new Camaro Z28 at NY. Supposedly 300LB lighter than other Camaros and 500HP. The size and weight have been the main things that turned me off of the Camaro and made the Mustang more attractive.

But the Z28 has few if any comfort features. One speaker, no A/C (it is optional and the only option), etc. Everything they could do to cut the weight. Fine for track use but as a DD? No thanks...

300 lb lighter than ZL1, only 100 lb lighter than SS. So, still pushing 3800 lb, with 1 speaker, no a/c, for $65k.

Yup. I thought it was pretty lame when Porsche did this with the Spyder and Honda with the CR. Remove amenities that add a lot of, how to put this, "enjoyability", for 90% of the buyers, while removing only 10s of pounds, and charge more for it.

Putting the LS7 in a Camaro is a no-brainer, but removing what are now basic standard features to save less than 2% weight, leaving the car still 100s overweight is a bit silly and reeks of gimmickry. 1LE with a hot cam would get you the 500+ hp for 10s of thousands less

So I rented a Mustang convertible. 2012 is my guess, with 24k miles. Mediocre seats, middling fuel economy when babied, numb steering, numb brakes, and awful interior design. The 1992 Prelude called and wants its interior back. Just kidding. The Prelude's is better. I turned the Mustang in the next day for a Focus. Within 3 minutes I remembered why I didn't get an ST. The seats suck. The engine is also uninspired with a balky transmission at only 4k miles. The fuel economy is decent but worse than I expected. Worst of all, the Sync system is a terrible joke. It makes 2007's iDrive, probably the system's worst year, look like a 1984 Mac. I'm probably going to sell my Ford stock. Shoulda taken the Corolla.

Nothing an aftermarket audio setup can't cure, provided the space is there for the rest of the speakers to go.
